Has anyone had a problem with the power seat on our trucks? Mine has started to move back and forth quite a bit. I got underthe seat and found the gear box on the seat actuator cracked in half. So I stop down at the local Dodge dealer to see about warrenty only to find that it was not covered as I have 77,000 miles on the truck. The part is $500!#@$%! Wouldn't this be a safty item? after all if it breaks all the way the seat is going to move and could cause an accident. Any thoughts on this????

I would think it would be a safety item but try to prove that to Dodge.
They should be available used. I would bet that the same motor/gearbox was used on all third gens 1500-3500 that had power seats.

I think that I have a stripped gear on the raise function. The motor runs but it doesn't move. I don't use it but my vertically challenged financial advisor does. I got the same answer from the dealer that they don't sell just the gear but the whole assembly.

Mine does the same thing, what did the dealer quote you for the new assembly installed?

Mine did the same, and eventually broke completely.

I ended up making a solid bar to hold it in the position I like until I could find a replacement.

I ended up getting a seat track from a junkyard for about 100 bucks and swapped out the motors.

I had to make a solid bar to replace the broken gear box. Now the seat is nice and solid. I might just forget about replacing the actuator.
