Power Edge EZ question

I would like to get some information about how the Power Edge EZ box works and just what it does for the 24 valve cummins. I understand that it increases timing. Does this change in timing vary with rpm change only or does it also vary depending on boost/load? Does it also increase the amount of fuel injected? And is it RPM dependent only or boost/load dependent also? Does this box affect the amount of boost that can be reached or does the elbow included with this EZ box just fool the trucks ecm to sense that that the boost is lower than it actually is? I hope these are not stupid questions I just want to know how this box really works. I could just call Edge Products but Im sure some of you folks can tell me this stuff.

Ken, the EZ does increase timing and fueling, but not past the specs of the injector pump. I believe it remaps up to 2500 RPMs. The boost elbow allows higher boost, and the boost module(part of the EZ) fools the ECM so no over boost codes will be sent. It does this by clipping the voltage of the MAP sensor.

I can tell you it does make a noticable improvement. It wakes the truck up.

Ken, I'm running with just the EZ now in my ETH and can tell you that it really wakes up the engine, a real kick in the pants, IMHO. Stock, the best I would see is 20. 5 psi from the turbo. With the EZ and it's replacement elbow, I now see 28 psi's at WOT. The egt's come up faster but I have never gone above 1100 F at the manifold (pre-turbo). Hope this helps.
