hey when I am accellerating our 04. 5 the power falls off at around 1750 or 1800 then picks back up at 2,000rpm and is fine after that. what in the world is going on? is it a sensor with a intermitten problem at those rpms or something else.

mods on this truck are afe stg 2, technicooler, high ram, stock injectors, ts-mp8, quadzilla boost fooler, smarty, 5" downpipe to stack inlet, 7" stacks. it happens same rpm no matter when hauling dozer with smarty on half power or playing with smarty on wild. ts-mp8 doesnt move from all the way up as fuel is 4. 45 in MD.

is it possible cam or crank sensor? whats your experience?

Sounds like you are draining the rail and then catches up. My truck, on the hand hands falls off at 2400 and then picks back up at around 2700. I'm not sure if its flow from the lp or the rail. Fp never drops below 4 psi with stock intank pump.

When I would throw a boost code I would get a dead spot around 1900. Have you checked the codes? My Smarty has since taken care of the codes.

If you have high miles and drive at the same throttle position it could be the APPS or Throttle Position Sensor - it should be giving P2122 code though. The "fly-by-wire" throttle is just a potentiometer of sorts and it wears out after so many miles. Just had to replace mine at 194K miles. $500 part at Dodge, ouch.

I have a similar problem with an 03 CTD California emissions version. However, I am getting a code of P0234 which it says is an overboost condition. Any ideas on cause??????????

put a rail pressure gauge on it

watch it dip and then catch back up like mine does :(
Mine would do the same (even with 30psi supplied fuel pressure through 5/8 fuel line). Dual cp3's took care of it. Your draining the rail, a modded pump or better yet 2 pumps is your only real cure. Mine would drop to around 7k psi of rail pressure with a computer desired pressure of 26k when hooked to a scantool.

wow ok that sucks cuz I am not even getting it in close to half the time when i notice it. I can do it with 48re in nuetral and smarty turned down to level 1. this truck is sorry if thats the cause.

but let me explain better: if i have truck in nuetral and get in the skinny not reall hard but high enought that is stopped at 2500rpms she always does it at 1750or1800 to 2000rpms. when accellerating (not drag racing) from stop sign up to 50 mph she does it at the same rpm range. thats why i was thinking something potentially with cam or crank but they normally would do it at all speeds. wouldnt tps only do it in a certain position of skinny pedal?

i would rather not take it to dealer to see rail pressure if i dont have to. id like to weigh my opions first look into other potential issues. but i am not ruling it out as i have delt with weak rail pressure before with too much fuel useage and not enough after 5 sec hard throttle on the other truck, but i was literally draining it on that truck and it felt like a misfire.
