There are some high quality 4TH gen style mirrors being made to fit 3rd gen (2002-2008) trucks by 1Aauto.
They come in several different power option levels and are backed by a limited lifetime warranty. They also have receieved very good to excellent reviews from those who have bought them. They also get good marks for the customer service they are provifing through one of their reps that frequents cumminsforum.com

While I do NOT have these on my truck, they ARE on my to do list if/when my oem mirrors fail for whatever reason or if my tax refund is slighlty better then usual

I'm guessing you didn't look at my signature vehicle........I have the factory tows which work great......Just a small attempt at humor on a Monday morning:) While electric fold in looks kind of cool to have, I can't even remember the last time I folded my mirrors in.....

So, your one of those guys eh? :-laf:-laf

Not me.....I'm no goomba;)......By fold in I mean the whole mirror, like in the video. I'm never flip them all the way out unless I'm towing. If i had them out all the time, I most likely would have already knocked one off by now........:-laf

Sag2 or any others,

Can I add power folding mirrors to my existing 2013 Laramie 2500 mirrors?? My truck didn’t come with the power folding mirror option but wish it did. Is this something that could be add easily?? Is the wiring and “motor” already there or do I have to change out the whole mirror?? Any idea on cost?? Is this something a dealership could add?? Any thoughts would be great...Thanks

Steve

When my power mirrors fold the driver side make a click sound, not every time, but more frequently as time goes on. Never when opening.

The click is at different spots during the fold almost as if a tooth is broken on a gear.

Any suggestion before I take it to the dealer?

I'm waiting for power up/down Mirrors, if they power fold in/out that's a +.

Yes, this would be a much more useful feature, at least for me. When you pull a trailer a few times a week and you need to have the mirrors up so that you can see it past the oversized dually fenders, you tend to just leave them up all the time rather than changing them two, three times a week. As well, you then have to run back and forth to get the convex mirrors set right each time as well.
Yes, I'm one of "those" guys with the mirrors up all the time.

Me three….when 1aAuto came out ewith their quality aftermarket 4th gen style power fold mirrors with signal and puddle lights AND the longer spot mirror to plug n' play on a 3rd gen truck I was SUPER executed, but that was before I realized that "power fold" meant power fold "in and out" not power fold "up and down" for towing. So I am still waiting with the rest of you…lol.

I am with the up position drivers for 2 reasons; to see around/over my 8 foot wide flatbed body and second after over 4 million miles with the convex mirror at the bottom my "Old Fart" brain cannot get used to the convex on the outside. The only time I fold the left one in is to get thru the drive up ATM machine!!

I'm with you TC. My "98 has Power Vision mirrors and it sure is nice to be able to hit the button on the door and out they go when I need them, without getting out of the truck and running around to fold out the passenger side. It seems that it would not be difficult to put a gear and motor on that mirror to rotate the head up and down. Some after market outfit should jump on that. I could careless about the folding in option.
