I know this is prolly a repeat from many others so i am sorry, here goes i have a 2005 CTD 4x4 with 3:73 auto, in the future i am planning on doing a 3" lift, i work with this truck every day i tow on the average of 7000lbs once to maybe three times a week, i need to keep this truck usable, after joining and reading lots of info, all which is VERY good by the way, i have a couple of questions, one smarty or edge juice with attitude? or injectors? what are the pros a cons of each? i want to purchase one box one time only, i want a little more power (smoke :-laf ) and better MPG when empty, is the smarty similar to the edge? differences? also would it be better to go with injectors over the smarty or edge? i know the edge increases rail pressure and are they any long term damages? how does the smarty work exactly? BIG advantage with the smarty is undectecable, even though the dealer knows i am going to be doing a power add. Second question on gages, pyro, boost, and transmission, or is it better to go with the fuel pressure gage verse the boost or should i do a quad and leave a spot for one? now who makes a good 3" lift other than KORE?

Sorry for the long post

Juice with attitude is a good start and it does not add pressure to your 05. You can change its settings on the fly which will help keep egts in check. The smarty sounds good but you have to load a program and then when you want to change you have to stop and load the different program. Juice also has backdown features for transmission slip and egts which make it a nice unit.

Some others will probably chime in here soon.

Ditto what he said, I've got the Juice/ Attitude. I personally don't really need any more power from this truck with just that box. I can probably dust 89. 9% of the cars on the road with just the touch of a button. I use my truck day in and out for work too, pull a light 8 X 12 highway cargo box etc... I never go to the track and don't enter in comp sled pulls. If you need anymore than the Juice/ Attitude box, you don't have enough toys... ... IMO. As far as smoke, before we got ULSD here in Cali I could turn lights off behind me leaving intersections by adj the low fuel boost adj. Now I can still get smoke, but it just a quick light grey/ brown puff of smoke and not a dark black cloud of death like it used do do before and around early sept 2006.

I would say colder temps have more control of the smoke than the ULSD cuz mine will still smoke like always. Well it's good to see someone else who feels the same way about the juice.

You need more fuel LOL :D I can make the lights, the ground, the entire car and the whole intersection disapear with the ULSD stuff :-laf In the 01 that is.

I have the Edge w/Attitude, aFe air system, HOG exhaust. The Edge is very nice due to switch power on the fly, and the exhaust made a big difference also. So far I have tested mine as far as towing and works GREAT! First time out towed a 26ft camper loaded, 4 guys, two 160qt coolers of beer on ice, generator, gas etc. . I started out in stock mode, once I got into Virginia Mtns I pushed it up to Economy mode, then Tow mode. Made a huge difference both in power and fuel mileage, normally I was getting 14-15mpg towing that much, I was seeing a steady 16-17mpg in Tow mode.

The Edge with the controller is nice mostly because it not only allows changing the modes on the fly but you get, BOOST gauge, EngineTemp, %Load, and EGT which I think is the most important to keep your eye on. At least from all the posts I have read.

Good Luck!

It should be noted that adding any power enhancement module will throw off the MPG computer making it seem like your getting better fuel mileage because it reads more but in effect maybe only at most a half mile per gallon increase and at worst poorer fuel mileage.

The bigger the increase in Hp settings on the box or downloader the higher the fuel mileage will read on the overhead computer due to less throttle travel. In reality the fuel mileage did not increase or could even decrease.

The trip computer is fooled because of less throttle movement the only real way to tell about fuel mileage is to calculate it by hand.
