I just had my truck turned up I am at about 380 Hp Really nice. but I drove it 500 miles and blew a Head Gasket. Oil in radiator mess. anyway its all fixed now. My concern was and still is that I will have a repeat of this problem. I am told by what I hope to be a very trust worthy service shop That my upgrades did not directly cause my Head Gasket to blow. I want to believe this but cant seem to get past it. I can quickly make 34+ boost, egts are very low preturbo readings compared to before. we have turbo to tail 4 Inch exhaust. All opinions will be appreciated I try not to just lay into the boost all at once and try to stay out of those high numbers. I always have allowed the engine to be nice and warm before I really use the power it has. I feel like I baby the truck but there are those times when I am not at all in the baby it situation hard pulls or the Green light launch. Thanks for your experience and input Happy Holidays Patrick

I've been told that highly advanced injection timing will take out a head gasket faster than boost up to 40 psi.

I realize I'm probably on borrowed time but I run 15. 5 timing with 60 PSI and have no problems as of yet... . (I'm knocking on the desk now)! Al of PDR told mt the head gasket should... . repeat should be ok at the 50-60 PSI level but there are allot of factors in there.

Thanks for the input guys keep talking please I just need a little piece of mind so far I am encouraged I am ok thanks for the replys and Merry Christmas Patrick

Patrick;

16° timing is still in the safe zone.

Now, you didn't say how "I just had my truck turned up I am at about 380 Hp Really nice. " Propane and/or nitrous (AKA drugs) are notorious head gasket venters.

Diesel Greetings

Jim how about your intercooler though, it's only rated to 50 psi.

Bill, I guess if it blows then it just blows and I'll deal with it then, I just never think about it or the head gasket either but don't go beyond 60 PSI.

Drugs are not part of my mods. I did the usual engine stuff and auto transmission stuff. Sounds Like I should just drive the beast and not worry over the head gasket blowing Thanks for the replies
