Power locks malfuntioning on 2001 2500 QC

My locks are not working right! First day with the truck and they are going up and down whenever they want. Stopped, parked, on, off, whenever. Got locked out of it first thing this A. M. and had to bust out the hammer to get in!!!!!!! My dealer in Seattle says they were not doing that when he dropped the rig off. How do I fix this crazy thing without going all the way to Whitehorse in the Yukon????

Do you have a command start installed in your truck? I had one put in my truck when new and it would sit and flash after I had locked it, or open and close the locks if a door was left open. Command start dealer fixed it.

I don't have command start. I can barely squeeze the unlock button on the remote access and grab the door handle in time, It,s cool though cause I'm a carpenter and I've got my hammer handy. Got to laugh, Ill probably never get a chance to hit a new vehicle with a hammer again!!

Check out the thread titled "MCrossley I've got your ghost". My door locks are doing the same thing. I was just out checking cows at 3am and from the field I could see the interior lights go off and on 3 times by them selves. I've got an appointment with the dealer tomorrow. so I'll let you know what I find out.

I had, what might be a related incident this morning... got out of my truck, with keys in hand, didn't lock the doors... went into the coffee shop, came back out and opened the truck door... the horn starts BEEPING, the lights start flashing. . so I remember something in the manual about getting in and driving away, well that didn't work... stopped the truck, pulled the fuses upt for 2/3 minutes replaced the fuses and everything was groovey... ... . was it me ! I lke to think not, but what the hay!... ... ...

Well I spent 3 hours at my 5 star today. He comes out and tells me that two fault codes have been set but he's never seen them before and doesn't have a book for the 2001's yet. I just about s**t. How the hell can he not have a book yet?Anyhow they're going to order new door lock microswitches and try them. I'llkeep you posted.

I'm on my way to Whitehorse tomorrow! I pulled the fuse and worried the locks might crap out on me some day down the line. They were going up and down up to 30 tomes a minute!!!! The dealer at Bellview swears it was'nt doing it on him when it was dropped off at the barge last week, who F*&%$NG knows!! I'll keep you all posted.

I ran into the same thing including the lights going on and off by themselves - There was a batch of bad micro-switches installed in the door locks which control the remote access/alarm box. Water can get into them and cause all kinds of ghostly stuff - Chrysler knows about the problem. My dealer called them and received a set of new switches from the factory. Everything else was fine except my neighbors nerves -

I had the same problems. The dealer must have had a good man because he found the problem in about 30 min.
The master lock switch, which is the electricial switch mounted on the back of the drivers door key switch was bad. He replaced it and I haven't had a problem since.

I had the door lock microswitches changed yesterday. Seems to have fixxed the problem

Went to Whitehorse last week and the dealership said he has ordered new locks, I hope he means the same lock switches you all are talking about! Lights are going crazy and the alarm woke up the whole hotel this A. M. when we left. I'm also having some pretty serious steering wander that I will be posting a seperate thread on tonight. To top it off my oil preasure sending unit crapped out mysteriously after a 17 year old lot monkey returned it from an allignment!!!
Something smells fishy!!!!!!!!
