I have been thinking about getting a power max 2 and a set of 275 inj. Does eney body have this setup or simular and what is your results. And what is the results with just 275's inj ??? Would like to know what was your impression with these set up thanks

Justin

I have a 2001 HO with 275's and a Edge Comp Box, I like this combo as I have 5 settings on the comp so I can adjust for my needs , I have never dynoed but suspect that I am around 350 hp and 750 torque???

One theing you will need also will be a clutch, I lost my clutch with 275's and just an ez boz so after the Southbend Con OFE than I traded the ez for the comp now I am all

:) :) :)

cheers, Kevin

Justin,

With the 275 injectors you will notice a difference in the way the truck runs, it should give you a 40-50hp boost.

With the power max 2 you will feel good power in combination with the 275's or stock injectors, but you wont feel the power until the boost comes on.

If you are wanting more low end, or responsiveness I would suggest the Edge EZ fueling box or a Van Aaken (these manipulate fuel delivery timing through the CAN Bus)

Just my opinions... .

I had that setup...

JBrookshire:

I had that setup on my '00 2500, then upgraded my PM-2 to a PM-3 adjustable. I recommend the PM-3 adjustable over the PM-2. Gives you lots of options for power level settings. I towed my 16K lb 5th wheel w/ mine on level 6.

ok

So what if i run just the edge ez, will I still need a clutch???And how will just the mower max 3 run with out the injectors?? I seen some in the classified for 500$ with remote??? not bad I think. I am just planing on to start to make a the bombing procedures:D and am asking for some advice. I know I will need a clutch but I have 10200 miles on the truck now and would like to keep the clutch for a while so that is what I am looking at. So help me from there. Justin

If you want your stock clutch to last.

I would suggest either a small set of injectors or an Edge EZ.

You could also buy that PM3 for 500 and just never run it over level 4 or so.

You won't need a clutch unless....

You won't need a new clutch if you rev the truck out (2,800 RPM). I havn't slipped my '02 3500 yet just by revving it out. I smoked my clutch three times on my '00 2500 by getting into hard at 1,500 to 1,800 RPMs. After that, I started listening to my friends about revving these 24Vs out. I did and never had any trouble,

BTW, my '00 2500 dynoed 315 hp/774 tq w/ the PM-3 adjustable setup and 275s.

Finally, I think the stock clutches are stout. They are rated at 600 ft lb tq. Just keep the RPMs up and go easy into it when towing heavy.

Thats what I was thinking

Thats what i wa sthinking of doing. go ahead and get the power max 3 and just not take it over that certian leval . I know that will be hard to do but I will only have to buy once. :D :D Justin

I believe the clutch failures have alot to do with your driving habits. I have a comp and I haven't had any hints of slipping. I have even tried to just so I know where the limit is. I know a hotshot driver with a VA and 275's on his 80,000 mile ETH with the original clutch, and that's pulling 10,000 lbs. minimum.

On the other hand, Kevin slipped his clutch with the 275's and an EZ?? I have ridden with him, he wasn't being hard on his drivetrain by any means. My personal theory is go ahead and add the power, but be ready to buy a clutch just in case.
