I installed my Dodge towing mirrors today, starting with the passenger side. Pretty straightforward, took about 15 minutes.
The drivers side went smooth too but I ran into a snag which will make it difficult to switch to 3rd Gen power mirrors later on.
The new mirror kit comes with a back plate to reinforce the mount and the mirror has longer studs in it. When the mirror is installed, the top stud makes contact with the switch behind the door panel that controls the mirrors. I'm hoping that there is a shorter switch or I will have to make some modifications to get it to clear.
Here are some pictures for details.
I ended up removing the mirror control switch and putting the hole plug in for now but eventually I plan on purchasing a set of 3rd gen towing mirrors to regain the power adjustability and heat.
