Was wondering if anyone knows about how the power mirrors work on the 1st gen trucks. i believe the switch is bad but is there a motor for these things? anyone have a part number or a picture from a manual?

TIA

I believe the motor is in the body below the mirror head. Remove the screw at the bottom of the cover and then 3 nuts and the assy comes off. Shadrach

thanks my friend, so it might be the motor and not the switch... is a replacement motor available, wait what am i thinking, they have discontinued adjuster tube, links, LOL... when it gets fixed and back here to the house where i can look at it, well if i feel like it that is...

Thanks

The Dodge mirror look very similar to the Chevy mirror around that time too. Might be a place to look for parts or used mirrors. I would check the switch and the wiring/connectors before the motors themselves.

I have never seen the motor assy. It would have to be behind the glass.

The GM mirror assy looks funky on the dodge door. They are tilted at a strange angle when placed on the dodge body.

You can power up the mirror motor from the wire harness plug there in the door. I have done very little trouble shooting on these mirrors and know for fact that if you have a motor in there that works, it is rare. Like hen teeth.

Just adjust them manually and be happy to have the factory mirror head.

I agree GreenLeaf thats what i have been doing, when i get it back here to the house i hope to be able to look at that more depending on how i feel, boy the sun out today is nice, been sitting on the porch today taking in the view. makes one appreciate things alot more when one isn't able to do certain things. .

Thanks
