Power port help

On my 03 the cig lighter works but my power ports in the dash and the center console do not. I can't find any blown fuses and I think that all three are on the same circuit. Where else should I look and what else should I do?



I am sorry if this is an issue that has already been discussed. Is there a way to run a search on the threads? Thanks for the help!

I doubt they are on the same circuit since, at least on my '98 and '06, the lighter only works w/ign. on and power outlets are full time. I'll check my manuals to see if I can locate where your fuse/circuit breaker might be.

My manuals indicate fuse for the Power outlets is in the power distribution center. Not sure where that's located on your '03, but on the '98 and '06, it's on the driver side fender under the hood. Check out the diagram inside the lid. On both the '06 and the '98, they were 20 amp blade fuses. I checked both to be sure that's where and what they were.

There are separate circuits for the power port and the cig liter. The fuses are in the power distribution center under the hood on the drivers side. The PDC is a black box with a knurled knob holding down the lid. Under the lid is a diagram of what fuse is for what.



My Garmin GPS routinely blew the fuse in my power port until the power cord was modified. I am very familiar with the location of this fuse. Be sure to carry plenty of extras if you use this port a lot.

or if you are running the latest version of mozilla firefox, you can use the keystroke alt+4 on the numberpad. that should bring up the search forum on the site [works for nearly all forums powered by vbulletin]

Thanks for the help! It turns out my stupid nokia charger had messed up. The little button at the very end was not extending all the way. Since the power ports are idiot proof from the use of the cig lighter The car charger was not making a complete connection in the power ports, but would in the cig port.



On a side note if you want to know the threads for the for the screw down holder for the fuse box lid it is metric 6mmX1. 00 King Kong here snapped the plastic one off.
