Power Pup and Auto transmission

I should have my Power Pup this week and was wondering how eveyone's auto trannies were holding up . I plan on only downloading the performance mode ( :-laf ) untl I get the $$ to upgrade the transmission.

the stock torque converter is slipping on mine when it locks up. thats on extreme setting. when i stack it with my volumizer on high setting, it smokes pretty good for a truck with stock injectors. i think the performance on extreme setting is great. the chip really helps to. i couldnt resist putting the extreme setting in my truck. if you put the extreme program in, beware when you take it out. the truck feels like a dog.

Took a ride in my friend's '03 with the power pup, AFE, and 4' exhaust. He does not have any transmission upgrades, only a programmar (forget the name) that allows his trans to slow down with the Pacbrake. On high performance setting it threw me back into the seat. I can't imagine what it is like on Extreme!!! I can't wait to get mine, hopefully soon.

I will resist putting it on extreme , it'll be hard but I'll do it. I don't want to have to spend the $$ on transmission upgrades yet. I should have mine installed tomorrow Oo. Oo. Oo.

Mines coming Wed. I'm pretty revved up with what Ive been readining about it. Very few issues with loading... thats a good sign. I saw lot's of issues with other brand loaders on other trucks... lockups and scewups that get you in trouble. This one looks pretty darn reliable.

Does BullyDog buy this from somebody else and relabel?

no hoot. bdog has spent over 2 years on this project. it is all done at bdog in aberdeen idaho. no relabeling on this unit. most all of their stuff is built in house now. a few years ago some of their stuff was re-badge but is no longer the case

I got my Power Pup last night and I'm going out now to download it. I'll post later tonight what I think Oo. Oo. Oo.

Installed the performance mode and SMOKED the tires now problem. I've had 2 5. 0 Mustangs and never smoked the tires like that. They would smoke um pretty good. But the truck had in rolling out of the fenders in seconds I did get the P0602 code , but cleared it with the box and restarted the truck and it didn't come back.

Ive had the pup for a week and half,drove it on tow mode and I was quite happy. . so I gave it a try on performance mode... went for a road test with my father-in-law... he turn pale(white knukles holding on) I had one big smile. . turbo seemed to spoole up faster,great mid range. . I love it. . Let wife drive it last night ... She likes it and now wants to drive it. . she has a 94 mustang GT modified 5. 0 ... . can't wait to try it on the next 3rd level. . also put the BHAF on last week. . its big... . I'm towing my new 5er (camper) this weekend back to tow mode. . thats what I like about the pup... .

What kind of EGTs are ya'll seeing in the various modes?

I have been driving in all the different modes. EGT are pretty high, but EGT are pretty high when the truck is stock.



Tow mode with my 5er runs about 800- 1000 on the flat, and will get up to 1350 on a hill as long as I watch the pyro and let off the throttle when the temps start climbing.



Performance mode with my 5er is about the same, but I have to watch the pyro more and let off the throttle sooner. It tows my 5er better than in tow mode.



Extreme mode runs way too hot. I can get the pyro up to 1250 before I am going 30 MPH.



Tow mode gets the best the MPG.

Apparently the 04 305/555 doesn't run as hot. I'm not having any EGT issues. Having a hard time getting it up to 1300 on a hard run on extreme.

That's an empty truck.

ditto that. i can get to 1300 on extreme from 0-100 mph on a 9000lb rig. as i said b4,i do have the mb103 trbo but i have dd2s that ad some heat. when i ran the pressure box at 90hp b4 i got the pup i had to back off in a hurry. with the pup on 'insane' no worries. just a big on my bearded face Oo.
