I just got one for Christmas and I really like it. I got mine used on ebay. It really wakes the truck up. The performance setting is what I'm running now. I tried the extreme but the smoke was really bad.

From what I've heard, the power pups have more aggressive programming than the triple dog.

FWIW I think that's better. Knowing what I know now I would buy the power pup.

When I asked the people at Bully Dog, they told me the programs were exactly the same. Now, that might not be true, but that is what the e-mail said.

I don't know, but with my BDDL, versions 2. 0. 4 and 2. 2. 2 run differently. The newer version is stronger on the higher settings. At least on my truck.

I've never received a straight answer from the tech guys at Bully Dog.

Found a new one for the "early 04" for $ 379. Thinking of giving it a try, as I already have gauges. What do you guys think? thanks, Doc
Doc,I say get it. I have the same year truck as you(2004),I have been running the BDDL with outlook monitor for about 3 months now and like it. No codes and smooth power. coobie Oo.

I've been running the BDPP with my TST and it works great. Just sorry I waited so long to try it. Where are you guys seeing the version number? When I downloaded the Performance program mine said V1. 5 on the screen. Flawless on my truck, just curious.

The Triple Dog is upgradeable by downloading a file from Bully Dog's site.

I don't think the older versions of the Power Pup can be upgraded w/o sending it in to be re-flashed.

bully bully

the triple dog version 2. 2. 2 is for the 06. the tow/economy setting makes the truck run like it should from the factory. performance and extreme need at least a muffler change and intake upgrade IMHO. very simple to use and also allows you to set your driving lamps with hi beams, horn silence with lock, fast idle via cruise, etc. with the outlook monitor available in jan. you can set egt defueling and monitor speed, 1/4 mile times, but no transmission control for the dodge. the program can be removed from the ecu for dealer

work and disconnecting both batteries for about 45 minutes is supposed to reset ecu to stock with no traces. i dont know if that is true though. the stock setting on the programmer is also supposed to be a download from the ecu of the factory settings before you selected any performance modes. overall it does what it says. crazy larry sounds like it's for those with serious mods and a desire for seeing the dealer. fuel economy is marginally better; maybe 2 mpg IF you drive like my mother. it is just to easy too put your foot in it.

unhooking the batteries does not clear all the things that dodge will find in a vehicle that is in for a repair, but these controllers do not cause most failures when they are installed correctly. I know tis because I work for A dealership, and I also will upgrade peoples trucks if they ask me to, 90-06. I just cant do it while at work. The modules on the trucks use burn chips that store info that only the techs at the warrenty return can see. special diag. boxes. If the dealership send a part back that this is found in, the dealer will be charged back.

so your busted eh! i agree with you on the programmer modules though, and the opportunity to drive your truck to failure is too irresistible to some. is there any way to leave "no trace"?
