Hey all still waiting on mine to show up (6/21 proposed date) I can't wait Oo. . I've noticed that in a few of the posts concerning the Mega Cab that the option for a power sliding rear window is now available. As you all know we did not have that in the '05 and earlier models. Does anyone know if they are using the same back window in the '06 w/ just a motor attatched or is it completely different window. Any info would be very helpful, that happened to be one of the options I liked about Ford over Dodge, thankfully it was not enough to make me buy one!! :-laf

Wow, you got a lot of dough into that 01 of yours. What are you thinking your going to sell it for??

As for the rear window. I'm not sure but my best guesses that they came up with a new design since the cab was redone. My opinion is that stupid electric rear window is something else to cost money and break... wonderful for it to get stuck open on a rainy day!

I don't think anybody asked your opinion about the power slider, only if it would fit the '05 ... ..... please try to stay on topic

And you have ever stayed on topic with your personal bashing towards me and other members. Okay buddy... .

Anyways, wait and see when the 06's come out and then you will see if it fits. I doubt it since the new cab design but you never know. but but... . I'm sure it will be a pricey item at the mopar dealers... And when the thing breaks prematurely then your favorite mopar distribution center will have already discontinued it... What a vicious cycle :-laf

Your pretty original there, I've only heard that since kindergarten

Why the name calling anyway? Have I ever called you a name? Have I ever personally bashed you, or others? Maybe I have, but I didn't think I had. (go ahead and spend the rest of the evening reviewing all of my posts :-laf )

You have time and time again made it painfully clear that you hate electronics ... ... . we are ALL aware of that. SRubenstein appears to like electronics and welcomes such luxuries as a power rear slider. His only question was if it would fit the '05. Your response was "I doubt it, but who would want that electronic POS anyhow. "

Okay look, I haven't responded to you in several months, and I shouldn't have tonight ... ... ... ... I'll go back to over looking your mouthy comments about technology and you can go on loving your sticky throttle cable, mechanical injection pump and hand crank windows, K? :D

I honestly am not going to waste my time going through posts. I can remember many times when you were more than rude to me after a comment I made that had nothing to do with you. Remember the post on wal-mart a couple months back? I agreed with you and you were nice to me. However, people that didnt agree with you, you were way to rude with them. You have every right to debate a topic or disagree with someone but there is no reason to be rude. Remember, I did answer his question though. My throttle cable is not sticky, but your drive by wire, wait, your 03 has a throttle cable, so what are you complaining about? My injection pump helps my truck get 20mpg with 35's... . My truck has power windows. They are nice but do break. When they do I'll get those lifetime warranty ones from VDO. Crank windows are great in a GM and Ford who both make terrible window assemblies. Dodge ones seem pretty reliable...

Totally different window... It will go all the way to the metal, With no rubber surround

FWIW

Thanks for the insight Tomeygun. I guess I'll be looking in to an aftermarket setup. Anyone know of any good ones?? I never expected such a simple question would cause such rucus, :-{} I do apologize!! BTW I'm asking $19,500/ BRO for my '01, gotta sell it quick my "05 is right around the corner Oo.

Hey, no apology needed, was not your fault :)

Good luck selling that truck. With all those mods, it is worth that but it is hard selling used gas trucks for what they are worth after all the mods

You are at least correct on that note. SRubenstein certainly doesn't need to apologize. I am fairly new here, and I spend more time reading & researching posts than posting. It gets kind of old when a few select people constantly express THEIR opinion on something when it isn't really asked for. As a newbie to this site, I would like to think that I could ask for information on something without someone saying what I like is a POS. If someone wants an opinion on what other's think about something that is a different story, but many times that is not the case.

I have to say EB, in my short time here you are definitely part of the few I mention above. It is very clear what your opinion on electronics is and you don't need to push your personal opinions on everyone on here when it is not asked for. I honestly don't understand why you spend so much time posting in the 3rd gen sections when you clearly don't like them, unless you are just trying to rattle cages.

This is a great site and has a wealth of information, and most people genuinely want to help others with their questions/problems, that part I appreciate very much and is well worth the membership.

I had a Laurence power slider put in my truck 3 years ago, cost around $400 installed. So far so good. I hope everyone will play nice.

I have said many times, I don't hate the 3rd gen trucks at all. I hate all the electronics they went to for engine controls and the emissions crap (not their fault). The rest of the truck is nice. The only thing I don't care for on the 3rd gens in the dash board material, it looks like wrinkled up tin foil. If it was not for the electronics, i would certainly own a 3rd gen in the future. When you ask a question, your going to get an opinion no matter what. Everything said is an opinion. If you are going to ask a question on the internet and you don't want any personal opinion then you should be figuring out the answer yourself. I love trying to help nice people around here on topics. I've been helped in the past and love returning the favor. The reason he did not need to be sorry is I made a comment, Jhardwick and I don't get along that well and it was just a personal conflict between us. I tried answering his question along with everyone else doing the same and I hope he got what he got the best answer possible...

I understand the part about the 3rd Gens and the conflict deal with JH and I certainly don't have the intention of adding more conflict. I just don't see how your answering his question or helping by basically saying what he likes is a POS. Maybe if he asked "what do you all think about adding an Elect. sliding window?" such a reply would be warranted, even though I still wouldn't call someones idea a POS, if I like it or not. However, in THIS example he simply asked if an 06 would work in an 05. Fortunately he got his answer.

Again, not trying to stir the pot, just an observation from a newbie that has basically been reading and absorbing information the last few months.

I too have a RL Laurence rear power slider. It's great. It was going to cost 400 for a stock 2nd gen replacement rear window and about the same for the power slider.

I'm on the Tundra site a good bit and the power rear window seems to be holding up well. If there was anything to b**** about, that bunch would holler. Was gonna' jump on Tundra but will wait to see Megacab first. Mike
