I'm installing a 6 way power passenger seat in my new Laramie.

Review of the manual shows that they specify throwing away the old bolts and installing new ones whenever the seats are removed.

The bolts look fine, why can't they be cleaned and re-used with Red Loc-tite?

not sure, I have had my seats out twice and put the bolts back in, maybe they get weaker with too many torquings. Not a concern for me really.

If a bolt is over torqued, it will yield. It is then seriously weakened. A properly torqued bolt can be re-used. The question you must ask yourself;

Did the person who tightened the bolt overtorque and take it to yield ? And the answer is in most cases we have no idea, thus new bolts are suggested.

probably has more to do with federal safety regulations as the seat belts in some cases are attached to the seats, if the bolts & nuts dont show any signs of being stripped or stretched they are probably as good as new.
