Power seat issues

Buddies truck... ( not mine for a change) has a seat that will not tilt the seat cushion up or down. Moves forward and back OK , just will not tilt. Can hear the motors making noise but no movement. Anyone else encounter this, it is an '04. Darn dealer wants like almost $600 for a new base, any easier fix?

Mine was jammed when I bought it (used). It was all the way against the stop. Kept working switch and prying on the motor and it came loose and has worked fine every since.

The grear box on my seat actuator cracked in half. Not warrenty the dealer said. What happens when it breaks and causes an accadent??? No reply. I removed the gear box and replaced it with a steel rod with the seat where I like it. .

I don;t want to high-jack the post but my lumbar switch is not working. Anyone have that problem before?

This exact thing happened to mine after about a year with little use. I was told $900 to fix.

Looks like it will go to the ******* this week to get fixed.

Dang - mine just quit tilting at the front, with it stuck full down. Those repair prices are insane. The labor of replacing the base should be insanely easy. Anyone tried looking up parts elsewhere? I have already tried giving it a little help with a prybar and working the switch back and forth.



For those dealer prices, I would be looking at off-road suspension seats. They are darn comfy . . .
