I have a 2001 with 6way power seats. I noticed that the seat setting that lifts the rear end of the seat up lowers to the lowest setting when the truck is shut down for more than 24 hours. I would think that this seat adjustment would be a mechanical/electrical screw jack. But maybe it is an air bladder similar to the lumbar support and the "air bag" has a leak. Has anyone else experienced this "settling seat" phenomenon and any recommendations for a repair??? Thanks

Mine has been doing it since it was new. Bugs the crap out of me. The problem is if I take it into Dodge they will not see it happen unless I leave it there two days or more. I wonder if everyones power seats do this or are we the choosen ones? I think I will take it in next week and see what the Dodge service guys have to say. I have had not so good of luck with Dodge on warranty repair service but we will see... kts

Heck Now I'll just Bomb it. Hydrollic supermega infinatly adjustable / swivel glycol cooled / heated seats here I come!

No but really I will look at my manuals to check the mechanism and see whats up if indeed it is a bladder or not. Its odd because a screwjack type would not go down by itself over time and the only other thing I can think of is a Motor / LEVER style that spins the motor over time.

Mine doesn't move unless my 3 year old is in the truck pretending he is driving, besides shifting and playing with the radio he loves to play with the power seat. I think they are screw jack adjustments but I may be wrong.

Seat is powered all the time.

Try this,

Get in truck run rear height all the way up,

Get out like always,

Get back in then out,

Now before you think I have pulled a fast one on you adjust the rear lift button up... ... .....

Notice the small amount of adjustment:D

Your leg is giving a little bump when you get out. When you drive a lot you don't notice, out of truck a couple days and butt memory notices something different, it is not Gremlins (or Pacers)

Hope this helps

Mike

Too Bad I liked the big butt theory. Unfortunatly I don't think that is what is happening. Others need to take note and determine if there seat is doing the same or is this a non-frequent problem... kts

seat moves....

I know I'm getting on the switch and making mine move. Someone has posted a solution to this in the past. If I knew who it was, I would give him credit. He swapped the circuits between the seats and windows. Now, with the key off, the windows will move, but the seats will not. It sounded practical to him and I agree. when I get time I will do the same thing.

I have noticed that my seat needs readjusting every once and a while for it to feel right again. I have not noticed it going down, but i do hate the power to them being on all the time, and not being able to put the power windows down. I thought of doing the circuit swap a couple years ago myself and just have not done it. I reviewed all the circuit drawing in manual and looks do able by switching two wires on back of fuse panel under dash that feed relays.

I would like more information from someone who has done this as well. I have a preluber on my truck and every time I put my windows down or back up I hate having to reach into truck, turn key to on or run position, then have my preluber cycle for start up with no start, and then my seats start to move all over the place cause I just leaned into the controls in order to power windows up. Guess I just talked myself into preforming this mod this weekend.

Always could get a 3 gen as the windows on them move in the accessory position.

I'm anxiously awaiting answers, my rear up/down adjuster isn't working. Have heard from other OTR PU drivers it's the first to go. They tell me Dodge won't sell just the motor, want you to buy the whole mechanism. Give me a break. Think throwing in a new motor would be much cheaper. I really need this adjustment working guys. So much so that I'm actually investigating installing a tractor air ride suspension seat. Cosmetics isn't my main concern here.
