I want to put a newer seat out of a 1998 Dodge with power on drivers side does anyone have a wiring diagram for the 98 seat I figured I would ask on this forum first don't like to step over unless I have to :D

Thanks Darrin

I don't have that diagram, but if you get it I might like to see it. I swaped the cloth seats from my 01 with leather seats from another and I need to wire the heaters. Do the seats your working with have the seat heat?

I got it somewhere.............

I'll have to find it and scan for you guys.

Are you going to use the in-seat shoulder belts? If so, you gotta wire the shock sensor in, too... ... ...

What did you guys pay for your seats? I have the cloth buckets out of a 98 in mine right now, but a buddy of mine wants to sell me a set of charcoal gray (almost black) heated leather power seats out of a quad-cab, front & rear, for $800. 00. He paid 1000. 00 for them two years ago, and then never put them in. Are they worth 800? they are cherry, been covered up since he got them. They sure will look outa place in an 85 crewcab... ... lol

So will all second gen seats bolt right into a first gen?

I've been banging my head trying to find 1st gen bucket seats here in Anchorage--if the 2nd gen buckets would work fine, that would make things *MUCH* easier!

Hi Midnite the seat I have is going to take alot of fabrication probably wouldn't go this route again. depends on how much you like the 2nd gen seats Hope this helps

Darrin

CrewCabDiesel has swapped 2nd Gen seats into a 1st Gen cab, but they weren't power seats. He sent me pictures and said that he had to drill holes in the floor. I could send the pics to anyone that wanted them, but he could give the details.

As to $800 for like new seats, that seems kind of high. You can get brand new aftermarket, leather seats for $700. I haven't priced the salvage yards, so can't say much more than that.

Good luck. If you figure out the wiring, I'd like to hear the details.

I didn't forget.............

I just haven't been able to find my 98 manual. It's packed in a box in the garage somewhere. Anybody up for a garage sale???????#@$%!
