Hello
I have a 2001 quad cab 3500. I am interested in putting a power sliding rear window in it. I specifically ordered the truck with no sliding window because of this, Anyone have any recomendations or views on this. And maybe a good place to pick one up. I am going to install it myself.

Here's one I saw in Truckin' Magazine -- don't know if it's powered, but I assume it is. It's called a Breezer and looks to retract down (the whole window). No website, but their number is 916-655-3333 in CA.

Already sold my ..... 1996 3500 ... On order -- 2001. 5 ETH/DEE, 3500 QC, 4X4, SLT, Black/Agate, LSD, 4:10's (will be running 19. 5's), AirDam, Camper, Keyless, Fogs, TTow Mirrors, Infinity, Steering wheel controls, Pwr Seat, rearseat storage, Tow, travel/convenience.

I looked into power sliders and did not hear good things about them. One company that makes them will not warranty them. I was told many of them quit working within a year.

My dad had a power slider installed on his 96 at Dave Smith in Kellogg ID before he picked up his truck. It's a nice setup, one that I wish I had. No problems with it at all.

I have found one source or electric sliders and there is a link below to see the details. I talked to a guy that can give us a group purchase if we buy in excess of 10 of these units. Don't know if that much interest is out there or not. If you are interested, send me an email and let me know if you would be interested.

Price is not settled yet, but it looks like it would be considerably less than the suggested retail of $499 -- probably somewhere between 10-20% off. I can confirm that once some orders start to confirm and the guy commits to a good price.

I don't really know how that retail compares to the one TST used to sell and I will keep looking to find out more. Also, I am trying to get some warranty info on the unit below.

Ted,

I am going to take the mount to a local (and big) sheet metal shop to see what I can have made. While I'm there, I will check on the possibility of mass production.

I bought a Power Slider brand and it raddled like crazy. I got no repley from them at all after I called many times. I had a friend fix the raddling by putting some weather stipping and it has worked now for two years. But I would not and will not tell anyone to buy from them because there is no custermer service.
