The wife called and said no power steering and brakes. son checked and said the belt is separating and the power steering fluid is full of metal files. just a few thoughts on this. I wonder if the power steering has something to do with belt problems, since there is a big vibration problem with them and a tsb, not to mention other tsb done with transmission line for pulsating fluid through the lines. I think research and development has gone away to keep up with the pace and stay in the running of selling trucks. I have 11000 only, on it. It sat for almost 2 years in storage while over seas. I am starting to wonder also maybe a hemi, a foreign made diesel or even gas, at the $40,000 dollar mark for trucks are for work but they should also run a little longer than a yugo. and definately long than any v8 since it is a diesel. I always say if we had toyota design a build tough trucks like the us look out. Any one else have thought on belt / power steering????

It's as good an explanation as any. If you've read any of the belt shredding threads on here or over on DTR, you know that my belt went at 5400 miles, no reason, and several others members here have had this happen with only a few thousand miles. Only one, if I recall, was diagnosed with a bad tensioner.

Keep us posted on what your dealer says.

got it looked at and will take a few days , but interesting he said it does not even look like a chrysler power steering pump. and the shaft was broken... Hmmmmm.
