Gents, I have a leaky firewall both inside and outside the cab. I'm assuming the leak is from the hydroboost (because I know it's the clear power steering fluid I just put in :)), but when I look up underneath the hydroboost/bracket area, it's dry...hose/lines and all. The brakes work well, but it's definitely leaking fluid to where I need to keep it filled regularly and it's making quite the mess. Is this a candidate for a reseal? I'm familiar with the duramax units, but not the Dodge ones. I do have the FSM, need to look tonight to see if it includes a section on rebuilds. I also found piratejack who offers the seal kit, I'm just not sure exactly where to look for this leak.

Well, found a great video for anyone that may be having the same problem:

I'm going to assume this is exactly where my leak is coming from since it's so far into the bore of the unit.

For the cost of buying a reman it might not be worth the effort. I've had to replace mine twice over the years. Lifetime from AZ works for me.

I bought a reman from Advanced Auto. The price was pretty reasonable, and like AZ, it has a warranty. At any rate it leaks in the bore. It is not a hard job to do. But there is a nut on the bracket that holds the hydroboost. Even on the bench, I had nothing to get it off-I even had a proper size wrench. You just can't get anything on it. I ended up cutting mine off with a dremel tool. Just be careful in cutting it off. There is a substantial core charge. The new hydroboost comes with a new nut anyway. Good luck.
