Power Steering Groan?

Noticed today for the first time a groan in what seems to be the power steering. It only happens when turning... but it stops when I push in the clutch. Anybody else had this happen? The truck only has about 7k miles on it.



I did a search on old threads and found posts that sounded like the same problem, but it was more associated with cold weather. It's 85 degrees here today. So that ain't it.



Little help?

Ok just got off the phone with dealer and they are replacing the whole steering column,they say its one piece so out with the old in with the new . He did not say what the problem was though.

I've got the same problem with my 01'. Carhauler (or anyone), can you see if they will tell you what the problem was? I don't want to take it in if I can help it. I'd like to fix it myself if possible.



And, if this fixes the 'sway and play' in the steering everyone is talking about having (which I do too), please let us know. Thanks.

Mine was making noise in the upper part of 6the column( Groan ) Dealer says that the column itself is non servicable. I checked it out today when i went up there and they d.





ps. They had it in stock so iguess they know about this problem
