I need help diagnosing a power steering brake booster problem!!!

Started truck up this morning, NO power steering, NO brakes. The truck is full of PS fluid and has a belt still on. I took another car to work. WHERE DO I START. Pump, lines, hydraulic vac booster. Anything will help

Thanks. Dave

First of all Dave, the PS pump is gear driven not belt. Second the problem sounds like a pump problem and maybe the drive connection between the vac pump and the PS pump is broken. Have you checked to see if fluid is moving around in the resevior of the PS?

Thanks a ton for the info. My first search will be if the fluid is moving in the pump reservoir. I needed to get the truck to my shop, half way there things somewhat went away. I am going to go through the entire system because I do about 40K miles a year and don't want this issue away from home. I will keep posting. Thanks

Dave
