I know the advertisements say 5/100K blah blah. This will be my first trip to the dealer with mine for a actual repair/leak. its a 2013 with 42k on the clock. I just wonder will they say " OOps, sorry, power steering only covered till 25K..." LOL

I did not look enough to see exactly where its coming from, but the whole steering gearbox is wet with fluid.

My '14 3500 CTD was built in oct. '13 At 2k mi. it had a leak with the steering gearbox being wet with fluid. Dealer fix. It was the low pressure line where it connected to the power steering pump. They took off the "funky" hose clamp & replaced it with a worm type clamp. You can see it looking down from the top. Difficult seeing from the bottom side looking up.

I had this same leak, it's probably the supply line from the bottom of the reservoir to the gear box, the cheapo assembly line pinch clamp becomes loose and it drips right on top of the box. I just added a hose clamp to stop the leak until I had time for the dealer to replace the hose assy.

No warranty for me !!!! I'll have to slide my fat arse under my 2013 RAM and fix it myself..Wonderful..I cant wait to get rid of my RV so I can get rid of the truck too !

Bob4x4, they got those cheese dick pressure clamps all over the place..LOL Mine does not look like a constant leak. I remember hearing it make noise at -10 etc.. I have yet to see a drop of oil on the ground yet..

Just had my '14 in fir the same leak as the rest. The hose leaking is a known problem with dealers. The dealer I went to had stocked s bunch for this reason. My truck was the 9th that week for the same hose.

I noticed a few drops of red fluid in the snow under the front of the truck.

Opened the hood and noticed the power steering reservoir down to top hose which would seem to be the return hose (return to reservoir). It was red because, I've been filling (topping it off to halfway between min and max) it every 3 months or so. I fillled it ( just above min) right before our trip with ATF4+.left over from my transmission fluid change. Still using ATF4+ in the g56 until the 7 year extended warranty expires.

How common/dangerous is this leak? I realize i will still have steering, but it will be much harder to steer if the power steering goes out?????

I am about 1300-1400 miles from home and will be starting the journey home on New Year's day. Pretty sure the dealers up here won't do anything but oil changes
