Power Steering Noise

I did some mountain driving last month for the first time in the '06 4WD. The power steering apparently gets hot and makes noise when wheeling back and forth uphill on the switchbacks. Anyone else have similar experience? Is there a tsb that addresses a problem?

you sure you have enough fluid?

I took my Megacab out bogging last month, and after running it through six times and getting it stuck once the steering box was junk.

It did look a bit low but not much. I topped if off. Didn't seem to make any difference.

when i start driving it hard off road, mine starts to make noise too ...

Mine was making noise. Told the dealer about it when I took mine in to get the blown intercooler replaced, they replaced the steering pump and no more noise. Seems to be a common problem.

Mine makes almost a hissing noise when I turn the steering wheel the left (but not the right. ) The gear box has been leaking for 15K miles - dealership has claimed it's diesel, oil and grease.



Anyway, I keep the fluid topped off, but I still get the hiss.
