well I finally got it done... . been wanting to do it for months. . so after 4 days with the truck down (waiting for parts... no seal in stock at car quest) and $8 later its all back together :) now I just hope it doesnt leak. I had to drive around for a while tonight... . was having serious withdrawls!! Jim

the seal is part of the vacum pump, there is a kind of seperate houseing that the seal is in. . I had to take that apart to get the seal out. . and that housing is sealed with an O-Ring you will probably want to change that too! mine was kinda hard. its a fairly simple job exept for getting the parts. you have to get the seal by size... its (28x38x7) the old seal had those very numbers for the part number"28387v" I had to get the seal from carquest and the o-ring from napa. and you may need to get a couple of hose clams too. . I needed one for the vacum line and one for a power steering line. ..... I really hope it works ... this morning I saw a drop of oil were it shouldnt be! so I dont know if its not sealing or if it takes a bit to break the seal in. . I hope thats the case, Jim

P. S. the new seal is made by NATIONAL
