I just bought a 2000 Dodge 3500 cab and chassis truck. It has a leak between the power steering pump and the vacuum pump, but it also makes a groan when I am turning the truck. The weird thing is that it only groans when I make right hand turns. I have done some homework and it looks like there is a kit for the leak, but do yall think the power steering pump needs to be replaced? How much is a pump? and do you still needs a seal kit if you get another pump?

No seal kit needed if you get a new pump. Mine groans a little with only 40,000 miles on it. Groans a little louder after I cleaned out the flow piston screen.

I recently had my pump out - not too bad. Hardest part was the return lines - ended up cutting the last 1/2" off one to get them off. Also, when you pull it, the oil return line at the bottom of the vacuum pump has a compression fitting that goes into the pump. The line does not actually connect to the pump itself - and you need to hold this fitting while turning on the compression nut to get it off.

I'd seal it up and go.
