im am in the proses of installing a new power steering gear box on my truck, it all in and the lines are hooked up but i cant bleed the system. im thinking that i may have gotten the lines backwards. i have it hooked up so that the pressure line in the left port (looking at the truck from the front) and the return line is hooked up the the right port (fraime side of the gearbox) is this right or did i get it backwards

This is a general thing , you should not be able to mix the hoses up , the pressure will have crimp fittings that screw together , the return may have a hose clamp on one end , & have different size fittings .
I do not have a 02 to look at .
It should bleed its self by filling & turning the wheel all the way in both directions , all the air should go into the res/tank , fill to mark on dip stick .
Sometimes the fluid gets foamy from not having enough , then it can be hard to get it to stop making noise .

in my 99 both the pressure line and the return line have the same fittings on them so they could go either way, iv tryed the procedure to bleed the air out and it want bleed. iv got to furgure this out as i need to drive the truck to work on monday

i just tryed to hook the line up the other way and the fittings are simular but not the same so i do have it hook up right but now i cant figure out why i cant get it to bleed
