Power steering pump shaft broke. Finally fixed..

Well after 3 days at the dealer, again, got my truck back today. It took 3 days to change the power steering pump. They said the shaft broke in two. They also told me this happens often, I was told by the service writer this is the 3rd one this month they have repaired. if that was the case they should of listened to me when I told them it was the pump. They said it took 2 days to diagnose the problem then the last day to wait for parts. They also informed me that all the ones they changed were under 20 thousand miles. My truck has 17 on it. My Uncle's in OR. went out at 19. Oh well enough from me again. Just hoping can keep this thing in my garage for awhile. Going on long roadtrip tom. to OR hope it does'nt brake on the way. Later.....

Glad to hear that your trip was not cancelled . Hopefully all of the repairs to your truck over the last several months will take hold.

One would think that they could have found the problem quickly if they have repaired as many as they claim to have repaired recently.
