does a 4bt have the vacume pump power steering pump combo like the 6bt? and if it doesnt will the 4bt bolt up in place of the combo on a 6bt? i want to get rid of the vacuum pump and need help finding the best way to do this. fyi. its a 1989 dodge 6bt

PS Pump/Vacuum

I actually have a 1989-92 6BT vacuum & PS pump on my 4BT. They come with two vacuum bellows.

I'm wanting to put one of the newer vacuum pumps like 94-2K

I had to remove one vaccum bellows and cap it to fit inside my engine bay.

Contact me.

All of the 4B's I've seen use hydraboost for the brakes, no vacuum pump. I can't imagine why a P/S pump from a 4B would not bolt on the a 6B.

BTW, If you do go with a hydraboost setup you will want a pump from a hydraboost system as they operate at a higher volume and pressure that a pump from a non-hydraboost system.

Yep

Currently my Bronco is set up with power-vacuum booster brakes. The vacuum pump is the bellows type used in late 80s and early 90s Dodge pickups.

I have on-hand a hydro-booster for a project later to convert from vacuum to PS controlled booster. I have a brake system that will work. However, I also have the hydraulic hoses and ram for assisted steering. I still have the brakes and axle parts to install, so I'd like to get this thing on the road first. See how it steers and stops.

Yes, they are interchangeable. But the bellows will hit the fender-well on a early bronco. The engine compartment is full of cummins.

anybody got a part number on a 4bt pump from a frito lay van with hydroboost or got an extra one laying around? trrade ya a good 6bt vacuum and ps pump.

That comes with the resovoir, no gear. I would think that the gear off of the 6B would attach to the pump?

A good place to find the unit (pump, gear and mount) is :

Tell them you want a P/S pump, gear, mount off of a 4B with hydraboost.
