A neighbor of mine just returned from South Fork Co. , he has a F350 with the diesel engine, about a 98 I would guess, he was pulling a 31' Jayco 5th wheel. On the trip up near his destination he said the transmission started to do some strange things, sounded like it would slip then it would catch or down shift very hard. Someone at the park where he stayed (Fun Valley) told him about a transmission shop in Alamosa that had a very good reputation. He took the truck there and the man used some type of scan tool or code reader, plugged it into the truck and drove it for about 30 minutes, by doing this he was able to solve the problem with the transmission, whatever it was and charged my neighbor a very reasonable amount. Thought this might be of interest especially if you ever have transmission trouble in that area. bg
