All I want is a couple of threads from people who have real world testing experience on performance products for the 2004. 5 - 2006 Dodge Ram. If you don't have any, why comment? I don't care about your reasoning with Dodges Warranty. Just tell me what you got, if you got it, and if it works for you. OK!

My mods work GREAT, but it threw a drive shaft, slips the clutch, and the turbo is making a weird noise.

Man I tell ya I dont know why the dealer wont fix it for free. ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... :-laf

We are just trying to help you out. The point is, dont plan on the dealer fixing ANYTHING on you truck if you modify it. So honestly there are no parts that add power and every dealer will allow.

Safe power adders that wont let you over fuel, over boost, ect are Edge juice with Attitude and some others... . There is a difference between safe power and power the dealer will allow.

Just chill and be cool with guys, they are more than willing to help. :D

As they say you play you PAY Fact

I would not touch anything to hop up your Cummins,GM and Ford. The all 3 will not :-{} pay if you change anything. It to expensive to gamble on the warranty. You paid for it when you bought it so keep it. I am kepping mine.

Ryan,

I haven't installed ANY mods on my 07 yet. But i have been researching the same topic.

There are only 2 mods that seem to be "no risk"..... air box and muffler.

There are only 4 other mods that anyone has begun to imply that might get by the dealer techs... . smarty, XZT, rokktek crank position sensor, and low hp gain injector nozzles.

please note the use of words like "might", and "seem".

these guys aren't messing with you. they're telling it like it is. you're not going to get any guarantees. just keep reading..... you'll find some mods that work for you.

i'm going to do the transmission first then engine after the warranty. i think a better tuned transmission will transfer more of the stock power to the ground and feel like an increase in HP. plus we'll need to do it eventually anyway.

good luck, jeff

I am not trying to Cheat Dodge out of any thing. I just want to add Some MORE POWER (SAFELY). Thank You. to those who have offered legitimate advice. The rest of you have taken this the wrong way.

There are a bunch of good guys here, and they are very knowledgeable ... ... ... ... . to the point that they know people cheating DC costs all of us.

Like I said, DTR is the place for that, the moderators over there even agree with such deceitful acts.

Every time someone buys a truck ... ... ... he pays for someone who cheated on a warranty claim.

Every time a warranty claim is scrutinized ... ... ..... it was brought on by people trying to cheat on a warranty claim.

DC is a publicly traded company who needs to show a profit. Thats hard to do when guys are modding the heck out of their trucks and claiming it under warranty.

Here is is in a nutshell ... ... .....

No, Dodge warrants an engine that operates within its design parameters. When one starts increasing developed horsepower and torque with attendant increases in peak firing pressures (mechanical loading), injection timing advance/duration and EGTs (thermal loading), then why should Dodge be responsible to warrant failures caused by operation outside of its design parameters?

Rusty

Dodge guaranteed what they engineered, built and sold you ... ... ..... not what you and TST, Quad, Edge, Smarty or whoever modified.

Now, as for boxes ... ... ... ... . there are many choices and plenty of reading on the subject. You can either scroll through the threads or use the search function to read about a particular box that you are interested in. But you need to research it and be your own judge.

There is nothing that could be said in this thread about a particular power enhancer that hasn't already been said.

This thread is about boxes and warranties.

Don't disagree but do you work for DC or have STOCK in the company. They have alot of buyer's money from the purchase of extend warranty plan, also over price of the truck's with the money's in off shore BANKing drawing interests. :-laf

I know you got to pay to play, but there is no reason why somebody can't recomend an assortment of bulit proof modifications. If a product isn't close to perfect- DON'T BRING IT TO MARKET. I want a simple and complete package. GOT IT!

I am not trying to Cheat Dodge out of any thing. I just want to add Some MORE POWER (SAFELY). Thank You. to those who have offered legitimate advice. The rest of you have taken this the wrong way.

Nobody is taking it the wrong way and all have answered you truthfully. What you are asking for does not exist.

Like Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy an "assortment of bulit proof modifications" that will not void your warranty is fantasy.

If you want to keep your warranty, do not modify your truck. Have all the work done at an approved dealer. Don't buy dirty fuel.

On the other hand, if you want some advice on parts that will probably not destroy your truck but will void warranty and you will ante up, rephrase your question a bit and you will get the best advice available. :)

You didn't read my post did you?

Actually, it's in the news all the time how the "Big 3" are struggling to survive and I heard somewhere that Daimler wants out of Chrysler.

I don't leave anything stock, LOL. A man just has to tinker until it's broke ... ... ... . it's just the way we are wired! Just don't expect someone else to foot the bill is all I am saying.

Ryan, I feel I know what your asking, lets say you put a box on your truck run say a 40 HP setting and you have a defective defective injector. More than likely they will find out you had a box on it and probably void the warranty. Maybe the injector would have failed with or without the box, maybe the increased heat and pressure caused it to fail. How are you going to prove which did it? Now would a box void your paint warranty? Probably not. There are modifications that typically won't blow the truck up, but all of them have the potential to void your warranty.

I had KAX injectors (honed factory injectors) put in my truck at 20,000 miles by timberline dodge in portland added anice amount of power they claim 100+ hp ? all i can tell you is truck runs great need to watch egt on big hills but other than that runs great at 80,000 truck needed an exaust manifold was covered under warrenty now Im at 110,000 miles hoping smarty will be here tomorrow let the fun begin FYI I tow a 24ft cargo trailer wt approx 10,000 90%of the time good luck Randy

Simply put, modify, no warranty. They will deny a warranty without bombing and say bad fuel etc etc. Chyrsler buys engines without warranty and pays for it themselves. NOW to answer your question, I had a Quad xzt tow module and it worked great. I only ran it one tank but ran it hard and it definitely gives good power and mostly torque (And got 18 mpg doing it) Around 150 extra torque. I have since put Quad race on it and Walbro and love it. Just like you, I said I was not going to modify my truck, then read and researched some and decided a small tow module probably would not cause any trouble. Finally I decided I may die before warranty runs out and would do what I wanted to and forget warranty. ( I've known several youngish people and friends to die last year). The CTD is one of best engines ever made and I'll take my chances. I only have 10k miles on it and I'm glad I modded it and would do it again. Love the power and sound. Not a hotrod but 383hp and 700 tq rear wheels. Dually. Clutch doesn't slip but I don't dump it or race either. If and when clutch goes, I'll call Peter at Southbend and pay for it myself. So it's just your personal decision. Stock setting my truck is 275 hp and 497 tq. Plenty of power stock. For me, just more fun to have having 110 extra horses and 200 more ft lbs torque. MY VOTE-- Get a good tow module, drive it and enjoy.

I have a Roktech Silent Might muffler with CAT still in place and the resonator over the axle. That gives a straight through 4" system that is , basically, quiet as stock with absolutely NO drone. The turbo spools up a little quicker and coasts down slower,

making it easier to drive around town.

amen
