I have a No-Slip in my Dana 80. It came from the factory as an open rear axle. It still is an open rear axle. My No-Slip is really an All-Slip. I am going to take it out and see what Powertrax says about it and then ask for a refund and probably go with a Detroit Locker.
I've put about 6000 miles on my No-Slip with 0 problems, except for getting used to slow speed turning with a locker (any locker).
I got mine from Reider Racing in Michigan for under $500 Fed Ex delivered to my door in two days. I delt with Barney, who is knowledgeable, more than a phone salesman.
Thanks Billy, Blakers Sams has it on there PDF file and the guy backed it up on the phone, but in your favor the dana 70 is new. I wanted it cause it is strong and easy to install.
Does the Power Trax replace the whole carrier? Can they be used in a truck with factory limited slip?
I think sometime last year 4 Wheel & Off Road did some tests on all the different lockers and limited slips. Not sure how Power Trax compared in the report, but you might want to research it.
I have a Detroit Locker sitting on the work bench, but I haven't put it in yet.
Blake, the Powertrax fits inside the carrier. It is not the whole unit. You can get one that replaces the posi unit or one that replaces the side gears and spiders in an open rear axle.
I've got a Dana 80 that was an open diff. and I had a Power Lok installed. It cost $565 from 4-Wheel Parts wholesalers out of Calif. . It's a limited-slip and it works wonderfully. John
