Ok here we go, I know that the possibility of damage to fuel injectors and fuel pump may go up with power upgrades but I also know that these things fail without upgrades too.

That said how many of you have had a failure with mild modifications like a Quadzilla XZT tow box or Edge tow box, you know around 50-60 HP and 150 lb TQ ?

How many of you have logged high miles (100,000 +)without any problems or failures?

I know you play you pay but it seams that ever time I get close to ordering a few goodies I read or hear of a failure or something and then I back off and hang up the phone.

What you're describing is not a major upgrade in power.

However, if you have an automatic transmission, then you could still potentially/probably see some torque converter slippage, which would not be good. In which case, a box that detects slippage and backs offs would be preferrable.

Nope, I did blow a relief valve somewhere just shy of 200,000 miles. I do think my injectors would possibly be showing some wear if torn down, but no failures.

JHardwick,

Wow, 230K! Tell me about your NV5600. What kind of maintenance, fill level, or intervals did you follow? Did you ever have any trouble from it?

Thanks in advance.

I've used Pennzoil Syncromesh every 50,000 miles. I always filled per the manual and never added through the top cover bolt. I lost a throw-out bearing at 190,000 or so, and replaced the whole clutch assembly. I have a trailer hooked 90% of the time and this truck has so far performed like a truck. The transmission is starting to shift kinda notchy in my opinion, but if you don't lean on the gears and let it slide in, it still works well. This is not a 10 second 1/4 miler, LOL

I've had my Juice for almost 90K. I don't see any adverse effects so far. I almost never go above 3 empty or 2 loaded. Every now and then I play on 4 or 5. So far factory clutch and turbo still intact.

135K towing a 30K trailer one way, 7K the other.

The reason I asked is a friend of mine was reading a post on another site and he saw that a guy sugested not doing any more than a Rocktec crank sinsore because the fuel injectors and pump would not take the added stress.

Any thoughts?

I have a 2004. 5 with 40,000 miles and Chrysler has had to replace 2 injectors. The 1st one at 32,000 and the next at 38,000. Both was towing a 13,000lb bumper pull on flat terran. Chrysler only replaced each injector as it went bad, even though i begged them to replace them all both times. They are aways wanting to deny warranty so be very careful if you alter your truck. Both times I was the nice guy and stopped when I saw fuel/oil coming out the back. Next time we will see how far a cummins can run on 90% fuel 10% oil! My guess it it's pretty long.

55,000 miles= blown injector #5. That was with BD x tuner on tow (60hp) rocktech crank sensor and afe. No towing or racing.

I have run the TS ramifier,Quad race box,and the Bully dog power pup downloader for the last 34,000 miles. Had a few problems (codes)with the quad race box that were resolved by quad(thanks quad) and I am now running the BD Powerpup for the last year with no codes or issues. I have 44,000 miles on the OD now. coobie Oo.

159k hard towing miles on mine... original lift pump, injectors, CP3, turbo still going. EZ usually on level 2, TST when towing 2x1, EGT's get up to 1400+, even in cooler weather, especially when towing those damn 48' hi cube containers!! Hopefully will have a SPS 62/14 real soon to put on along with my ATS manifold. Did blow up the 6 speed 6 months back @ 129k
