need some ideas on power upgrades for my 2000 dodge 4 x4 LB SLT, 5 Spd, and I pull a 11,000 pound 5ver. I was looking at the bank Power pack for the upgrade but $$ to have it installed. Can someone give me some suggestions Please.

If you ae gonna continue to tow and not change out your turbo I would suggest you put in the 275 rv injectors and get a fuel box that is adjustable. That way you can turn down the extra power (other than what you would get with the bigger injectors) when you tow. You just might see an increase in mileage with the 275 injectors also. :D

I can attest to the 275's and their ability. They are a good injector and will yield better mileage. I also run a Edge comp box. I have loads of power to tow anything I want. When I had the 275's and just a straight Edge box, I had plenty of power. Being greedy though, I moved up to the Comp.

A set of 275's with an Edge would be a very simple power upgrade that would only set you back about $500 to $600 if you bought everything new, I would think. :D

ALittlejohn; Do a lot of search and ask lots of questions, you'll also get tons of answers and opinions, you've already got a few good ones. One thing to keep in mind as soon you start to go up in hp's if you have a stock clutch it won't survive. You'll also need gauges to keep and eye on things.

I can attest to 275's and comp it is a good towing combo.

Here's my suggestion/opinions.

1. Gauges

2. Clutch

3. 275's and comp

4. BHAF

5. 4" exhaust

6. Exhaust brake

This is a good towing combo and you'll tow that 11k 5er like if it wasn't even there.

Did I forget anything, someone will jump in.

Just as an alternate viewpoint, take a look at my signature. My truck is used almost exclusively to tow a 13,500 lb 36' 5th wheel - we hit the road at 21,180 lbs GCW (21,500 lbs GCWR).

I first had a comp box with the wire unhooked (same as an EZ) and DD2's. Great power for towing. I'd get gauges, tho, and you might be on the edge with the clutch, maybe. .

As my signature indicated, I have the gauges and clutch covered.

As Robin said, I wouldn't do anything without installing gauges as step 1, which is what I did. HO's are noted for running high EGTs (I know, your truck is an ETC, not an HO), and I could hit 1300 degF pre-turbo when towing when the truck was stock!

When towing with the BHAF, Jardine 4" exhaust and Edge EZ, the stock clutch held fine, and max EGTs dropped to 1100 degF using the Edge-supplied boost elbow. The DD2 injectors pushed it over the line, though, and that's when the South Bend Con OFE went in.

Since you tow a 5ver that weighs 11,000 lbs and have a 5-speed transmission, I'd highly recommend an exhaust brake. It doesn't make it go faster, but sometimes we have to stop or go down a long, steep grade, and it's worth its weight in gold for that!
