Leaning heavily towards the Power Vision mirrors for my truck. I have really only heard good things about them. Anyone have any bad thoughts about them?

How hard are they to install? How are the intsallation instructions? I can do just about anything if they are decent.

Does anyone know where u can get a good deal on them. Their web site listes them at close to $500 for the heated model. Does the switch for in and out cost extra? How much?

I currently have manuel DC tow mirrors, but do have the factory harnesses. I would also assume that they are wired for heat too as that was standard on the 2001. 5 2500 SLT as I recall.

How much of a pain in the ass are the door panels? Do u need a panel tool? Replacement push fastners?

Any help/comments ( good or bad)/ideas whould be greatly appreiated.

Thanks

I love my Power Visions, the door panels are easy to remove with the right tool which is about $8. 00 and I have had mine off twice and still used the original fasteners which I guess comes from using the tool. Someone here bought a bunch of those fasteners for not much $ at an auto parts house like O'Riellys. The instructions are very good and I had no trouble following them, a very good upgrade. They will shake a very small amount when extended but only when hitting bumps and do not vibrate going down the road like every other mirror add on I have used including McKesh.

I have them on my 95 and think they are a good investment. They were a bit of a pita to install but if you call the 1800 number con will be more than glad to help you out . The factory support from Pendelton is outstanding.

Go for them. Expensive but well worth the dollars. :D

Good Morrors...

Biggest problem was getting the mounting holes to line up with the holes drilled with the templates. The rest was relatively easy. Performance wise, they are very stable with a big clear view to the rear. I had to put some wire ties on each end of the rubber boots to keep them in place on full extension. I don’ have the heated version (before they came out, but have the heating option with the stock mirrors) but haven’t needed it either. The switch for moving the mirrors in and out comes with the mirrors. We purchased our mirrors from Camper World. They had the best price at the time.

P. s. I understand the new PowerVision mirrors use the stock holes for mounting.

We added the PowerVision electrically adjustable, heated, electrically extendable mirrors to our 2002. They use the factory mounting holes with a reinforcing plate to compensate for their weight and extended length.

Next to the exhaust brake, they are one of the best additions we've made for towing our 5ver.
