Called about mine yesterday. Bill (or Tim ??) said that I was on the next group to recieve mine (yeahhhhhh). They were suppose to ship from Bosch on the 26th, they should have them on the 30th and start making calls to those on the list. If I remember correctly I was about #18 or 19 on the original list.

Mine will be going in for a pump timing and I will probably let them do the install at the same time. Also will put my 16 cm housing on all at the same time!!! Hope this doesen't cause the auto trans to become jealous and want a little massaging. My wallet is almost massaged out!!!!!!!

When I called last Friday they said I was 12th. The lady told me thier supplier wasn't shipping them as many as they order. Originally mine were to be here this week but another two weeks won't make that much of a difference.

YYYYEEEEEHHHHHHAAAAAAAWWWWWW!!!!!! My PW injectors are in the mail. Ordered them this afternoon. Will be installing 16cm housing and setting timing along with the injectors. Hopefully they will get out in the mail this afternoon.

I have one question for you guys. Has anyone had the pop off pressure checked prior to installing them. I am considering having them "balanced". There was a thread about this months ago. The shop that is going to set my timing (spill port method... . 1. 35mm) has asked me about having them balanced. They charge $4. 00 per injector since I am having the timing set. Is this something to do or not. Just curious if anuone else had this done.

I just got the call my injectors were in
on Wedsnesday (11-8-00). Ordered them back on
9-13-00. I was starting to think I wasn't
going to get them. My truck should be a good
test subject. It runs good now (28 psi) and
the only thing I'm changing is the injectors.
Balancing them sounds like a good idea - even
better idea at $4. 00.

Installed the PW injectors today. Everything went well, took just a little over two hours, truck fired right up and did not even run rough, idles just as smooth as with the stock injectors. Took the truck for a short run - "my seat of the pants" dyno - the engine sure responds a lot sooner and is much stronger when you step on it than before - so far I am happy #ad

The guys at Gateway are awesome - they sent mine in an AVON box - no kidding. "The fragrance of sophistication" or some such nonsense written on the side. Wife thought I had ordered some early christmas present! Her eyes were all fired up and I had serious points scored. I came clean though, and informed her that the fragrance they were talking about was diesel fuel. Talk about a stealth delivery.

Took me about two hours to install as well, the old ones came out pretty tough and the return manifold didn't line up quite right so I had a hard time ensuring those bolts were not crossthreaded - if I hadn't been cautioned to turn them in by hand I would have surely had one go in sideways.

I used a large nut on where the high pressure line hooks to them and a crowbar to get them out. #5 and #6 put up a good fight. All my injectors had substantial buildup, 151K miles on them.

Results? Intense. Same feel as when the pump is turned way, way up, but without near as much smoke. Idle is better. Throttle response is better. Torque curve is longer, flatter, and stronger. I still have to take it up the "test hill", but for the price, this is absolutely the right way to go. No call on mpg changes yet, takes me about 7-8 days to get through 400+ miles we typically get on these 25 gallon tanks. Makes ya wonder how long the clutch/transmission are going to take this much torque!

I'll be turning my pump down just a touch to ease off the internal pressures in there and go for a little longevity.

A straight through muffler is all that is left (K&N, and 16cm2 Stabco housing already in), then I will dyno it again as compared to stock and post numbers in the 1st gen conference somewhere. It'll be a while yet, but I'll get it done.

Best to ya, get them installed folks!
Jon.

Jon, glad to hear that your PW"s are working well-I think they are great. The next thing for me will be to replace the exhaust when it is shot.

Based on some of the other posts I made myself an injector puller - total cost $1. 50.

Parts:
Used 1/2 wheel nut, 3/4 inch deep socket and bought a 4 inch bolt from Home Depot.

Assemble and attach to the injector and a couple of good upward wraps with the socket and voila the injectors pop out.

Has anyone installed these injectors in a pre 91. 5 without an intercooler? If you did, what kind of temps are you running on your EGT? Have you towed anything heavy with them installed? I'm long overdue for a new set of injectors, but don't know if I should go with the PW's unless I install an intercooler.
