Does anyone know of where you can get the parts to rebuild the drive unit for the power windows in our trucks? I did a search of the archives and someone mentioned Pep Boys but the nearest one is close to 100 miles away.

carparts.com has 2 different ones listed but no idea which is the right one. Unfortunately, technical support has not been one of the strong points I have found with them.

Thanks for any info/help you can provide!

Carl

I didnt know the motor had a cluch?

I just did a motor in my 1st gen. The whole thing comes as a unit. Mine cost me under $70. 00 for a rebuilt unit, exchange.

I didnt think that was too bad considering the price I got a few months ago was well over $150. 00.

If you want a part # for the whole unit, PM me. I think I still have the receipt.

Eric

If you can find the part number, please post it here and not in a private message. That way if anyone else does needs it, they can find it by searching the archives.

Thanks,

Mike

I get rebuilt window motors here local for $38 plus exchange at a small no name parts house. Look around, I have found that places you would never think of can get parts for our trucks for some reason. Bill

Part # on the rebuilt window motor is:

CMC R4467283

List $73. 20

I got it for $62. 22

It requires a $20. 00 deposit.

This was the DRIVERS side motor.

Thanks for that part #. Went to my stealer and he looked at me like "where did you get THAT number from?" Looked it up and all it said was "motor", no description of where or anything!

If my nylon dowel fix does not work this weekend, I told them I will be in for a set on monday am.

Please refrain from the generic use of the word, "stealer" on the TDR website. Feel free, however, to post detailed information about good - as well as bad - experiences with any dealership.
