Had anybody converted from manual window's to power window's?

What all is needed? Is the wiring already in the door for power windows from the factory?

TIA

I once saw a power window kit from JC Whitney that just bolted on to the door panels in place of the old window knob but i have never actually had any experience. But if that kit is quality i would think that would be the easier setup.

Power Window Conversion

I did it to a 2001 3500 ST. There is no wiring in the doors. I bought the dodge motors for the windows and the dodge power locks at the same time. More work wiring than I would ever do again.

You might want to price some decent doors with this option from a salvage yard. Might be able to get something for your stock ones. It's work, I know, but another option to investigate.

I priced some doors a couple years ago, $900 each!!! That has likely gone down with the introduction of the new body style so check it out.

I'd also check out salvage yards for damaged doors. Tell them what you need and see if they are willing to sell you a damaged door cheap or let you pull parts off one.

FYI

I just parted out a wrecked "02 and I have the motors/window regulators, power door locks, switches, some wiring. It's just spare parts for me. If someone could use the stuff I'd be happy to determine if it's worth my while.

After market........

The ones I have work fine. The only thing I would do different is get some factory switches for looks.

The aftermarket ones have a motor that can be mounted just about anywhere and two cables going to a gear that slips over the existing window crank. Just need to get a power wire into the drivers door and then a wire out to the passenger door.

Most alarm places will carry and install them.
