Factory mirrors (power/heated) just aren't cutting it while pulling my travel trailer. Also shotgun mirror distorts waaay differently than drivers... ... Have the Black molded slip over units, but they aren't very good.....

After the price shock, I looked closer at the Power Vision mirrors and they look like they'll really get out there and improve my rear view.

Before I make the leap and part with my hard saved cash, anyone out there with some opinion or experience with the product?

Thanks!

Power vision Mirrors

Hello again Davidson. I have the power vison mirriors. They do the job for me when I'm towing, however I do have a "blind spot" on the passenger side that several times has hidden a small car. I can't seem to adjust the mirrors to cover the whole area. The right side mirror is flat (what you see is what you get - no magnification) so your field of view is narrow. This is great for backing up cause your depth field in both mirrors is the same but some what hard to get used to for solo driving. Regards, Lynn schwartz

I bought and installed the powervision mirrors about 3 months ago. Talked to one of the guys from the factory at Timberline Dodge who sponsered a Diesel day rally in Portland this summer. The installation was a bit more difficult than I thought it would be, but am happy with the results. The mirrors work good and the factory service is great. I called with a problem and the rep talked me through it and even gave me his home ph. as it was getting close to their quiting time and he wanted me to call him if I had anymore problems. Am I happy? yes. I wished I had done it sooner.

I purchased a set of heated Powervision Mirrors from Jason at Northwest Custom! Jason installed them and I gave him moral support. They work really well. I put a 3" convex mirror on each one so I could see right next to me. I really like the standard mirror on the right side of the truck rather than the factory convex, I can actually judge the distance behind me on the right side now.

If I were to change one thing on the Powervision Mirrors it would be, to make them about 2" taller. However, that would not stop me from purchasing them again.

I've got a pair of heated power mirrors on order. I'll let you know how they work out. Sounds like I'd better plan on picking up some small "stick-on" convex mirrors to go with them.

Big Bob is correct. I had them for years and the only draw back I could see is what Big Bob stated. The 5vr are quite tall and I like to see if tree branches etc are going to give problems. Other than that they are great.

I have Power Visions and like them. I also put spot mirrors on them to eliminate the blind spots. Installation is not easy, hardest part is getting the wiring harness thru the doors. Silicon grease will help.

I love 'em!

I had been waiting for a set of heated Power Vision mirrors since the late Spring of '98 when my Ram was being built. Since then I have patiently waited (well almost  ) for them to finally be released.

I purchased one of the very first sets of the second generation, heated Power Vision mirrors through Jason Burton of NW Custom. Great guy and very helpful in the procurement of these new (then) mirrors. :)

As you might expect, the installation of anything having a total redesign might have a few problems however, only one problem existed, where to properly place the mirror extension switch (the installation instructions were somewhat misleading at that time). After several calls to Con of Power Vision, I was pretty well straightened out. A few weeks later at the Timberline Dodge/TDR rally in Portland, OR. I showed Con where I had finally placed the switch... it turns out I was pretty close to his description.

I installed a set of "spot" mirrors that I purchased at Camping World (somewhat square with one of the four corners having a larger radius than the other three)... these look like they were part of the mirror design they fit so well.

And now for the best part...

I R-E-A-L-L-Y like the way they look on my black Sport Ram!

BTW, NO more mirror vibration! :D

Power Vision Mirrors

I've had the power vision mirrors for about a year and am very happy with them. I had the right mirror break off at the knuckle but the factory replaced them immediately. Great support and great vision while towing. :)

I've had mine on since June and they are great. I can see down the sides of the trailer without having to get used to the vibrations first. I split the wiring for the rocker switch so I can run each mirror out as far as needed, the left one does not need to be out as far the right. So each mirror has it's own rocker switch. I put the switches above the door handle so they are out of the way. The cup in the arm rest got in the way so I had to bend the lugs on the switches over so it fit back in. The guys at Power Vision are great it any help is needed.
