Anyone else on here have one? Does it work well for you?

Getting ready to vent. . Just wondering if I was the only one.

ppe makes a great programer, i think it's the best on the market for power right now, its what i use and many of my customers :-laf

I guess I am just not happy with it.

I picked it up because it said on the website that it would up my rpm to 3700 and remove the top speed limit.

Guess what. Doesn't do either.

I also have a problem with it making a popping sound on anything over tow setting.

The other thing is that the PTO deal locks up and shuts down after like 10 seconds.

I call up the place and get told either they will call me back with answers (never happened) or to call them back in the morning for the answers. (that was a new one for today).

Nothin like having a $700 paper weight that also clears codes!

man i'm sorry to hear that, the 03-04 does not delete rpm limiter or top speed--thats on the 04 1/2 and up, the popping is your truck running out of fuel! also you need to talk with someone that will answer your quetions, thats not good for ppe. Oo.

Yep. I have called up a few times now. Each time I get a different story.

I know its running out of fuel. . But when I told them about it the first time. . The guy told me that the box was made to run on a stock truck. It was having problems because my aftermarket turbo (hx-40 at the time) was too eficent. LOL I was like uhhh what?

Then they tell me they are working on a hot version that should do all the things I want! To hold on cause it's on the way. Well, a year later. . Nothing. And now. . It's aslo too late to get my $ back.

I guess I am more ticked about not getting what I wanted out of the deal. (rpm and speed) Even after I called up and confirmed that it would about 30 seconds before I gave them my CC number. Then getting passed off and/or ignored when I called up. If you dont have the answers when someone calls, put them in touch with someone who does!

Ok. Vent over. Now. . Anyone know how to remove the top speed limit and gain a few hundred rpm? About ready to start cutting wires and just dumping fuel in the intake here. LOL

You are not going to get any good answers from someone who does not build their own product in house. They may in fact do tuning or whatever, but they definately do not build the unit in house. That is probably why you get the run around.

Quad

Byron,

I know that the earlier version of the PPE Xcelerator had issues with any of the settings over the TOW option. The newest software version from them is supposed to be the bidness. There are two of the new ones at DDP and you might be able to sweet talk em into swapping you out.

See... There is another one. . I ASKED them TWICE now if there was any update to the software to solve any of the problems I was having. Each time. . I was told no. :(

Thanks for the heads up!

Popping Sound???

Does the "Popping Sound" sound like a miss in the engine at 3/4 to full throttle at about 2200 rpms? It only lasts for a second, or less.

I have the VA-C3. 2 (duration-only) box & have been experiencing that missing sound (almost like a stuttering backfire) on the high (130 HP) level, only.

Thanks.

Yup! It happens just as you are starting to build boost as you roll into it. I have been told that it is the fuel rail running dry.

Yep sounds like a shotgun under the hood. It happens with my tst on anything higher then 3x3.

I would love to get a ppe hot and compare it to the BDCL.

I have heard that on the 04. 5-current, some of the boxes have a problem that when you load the program its fine, but when you try to take it out it dosent recognize your VIN and your stuck with the program in your truck. Anyone with a 600 had this problem???

I just installed a ppe in my 03 two weeks ago with no problems even on the extreme setting no popping. so far I love it.

I have had a ppe stacked with an edge ez for like four months! Runs like a bat out of hell smokes like a train and slips my con Fe like a stocker. No popping but i have a fass pump. I keep it turned up all the time i just have to be careful when i am towing. I love it just need a better clutch! Any ideas no dual disk!

I have the PPE, edge juice, and ez stacked I never had any problems no pops just some injector cladder when my juice went 4 or above.

I just had a fass put on and my twins should be done first of next week then everything is going up!!!.

I will let you know if I get any pops.

Mine is also a 05 so maybe this doesn't help. But PPE seemed good to deal with for me.

Maybe next time ask for someone who can help and keep going up the ladder till someone actually gives you a acceptiable answer.

waiting for the ups truck as I type. :D should have a HOT PPE here before the end of the day if all goes as planned. :D

the hot ppe is nice but tunes pressure timing and duration, so stacking is not a good idea, the standard one is better-----by the way how many boxes are you going to buy? :-laf :-laf :-laf

Unlike some vendors I like to test run what I am selling. :D As for pressure... don't worry, I got an eye on it. ;) The TST is still not playing nice with the BDDL. :(
