PPE vs. Smarty

Im runnin the PPE hot and u need supporting mods to get the 300 out of it,and if u have an auto u need to get it built cause it wont take long to trash it!

i have a slightly older ppe hot the ones pre-pto function delete on my 04. 5. I love it.



the gf's 04. 5 truck has the smarty. smarty is cool that you can change tire sizes, but other than that it aint my cup of tea.



I am going to be giving ppe a call in the next to weeks as i have lost my PPE to a DRBIII. so i will get one of the older programs from them so i can keep the pto function.



Yes oneshotkyle is right you will kill your trans with a ppe hot. I did in half a donut on smooth as glass ice. we looked at eachother and were saying wasn't me, I didnt fart, had to have been you. three guys in one truck reakin of burnt clutch and burning atf can be pretty entertaining especially 4 hours from home during a snow storm with a 800 dollar tow bill on top of transmission cost.

The only complaint I have about smarty is the tune changing process. I wish they could come up with something that you could change the settings on the fly... I usually cruise in the 60 HP setting for mileage reasons but it would be nice to dial up to 170 when you pull up next to a tuned powerstroke or duramax... . Is there ever going to be that option with the Smarty?

I know what you mean... my smarty is always on, the tst takes care of the "turning up the power on the fly". I still believe after much trial and error, the smarty/TST stack is still the best for everyday and drivability. I know others are making very good power with other stacks too! I guess it is a matter of preference.

just about any programmer can harm a transmission. that should be one's first mod if you have an auto. i tow on the wild settings with my smarty and get better mileage and a bigger grin. :-laf
