WOW! I had heard about this story briefly yesterday at work. I do not have television or a dish and last had heard late in the night that the miners, minus 1, had gotten out alive only to awaken today to hear just the opposite.

Mis- communication! Come on! I know that this was a stressful situation at the site, but to allow this "mis- communication" to happen and then to wait 3 hour to get the actual results to the families is rediculous! My heart goes out to them.

From what I heard on the news today, it appears that this mining company had cut some corners to which lead to this tragic event.

Prayers and thoughts to the miners and thier families.

Respectfully,

-frank.

I didnt even hear the first story (forgot to check news before work this AM) but did hear the final casualty toll when I got to work.

I didnt have much hope for the crew in this one... . Quecreek was water and cold... . thats easier to fight than fire/explosion and CO and other noxious gases. Mining is like railroading... its always dangerous and always will be, no matter how many safety regs and procedures you put into place.

Thats got to suck though... having one-hour rated SCBAs and waiting/going for help and not having enough air in the end.

Prayers go out to the families and the lone survivor. He has a long road ahead of him... . both mentally and physically.
