I would like any input on the predator and satisfaction with the manufacturer. I recently meet an 03 owner that just raved about his, not sure which stage he had but will find out. I just want the power and milage Dodge took with the reflash of the ecm back and alittle more since I've took on a larger 5th wheel. I've run out of patience with Dodge and their serviceless departments and their rip off way of doing business.

Any suggestions on better upgrades would also be appreciated. Seems I'm seeing some dissatisfaction with some products and their manufacturers.

Tks in advance, john

I have a predator on my 05. The reason for me buying it was the price. It was about 100$ less than the Edge EZ. Mine is the 50/100. I had a 02 with the edge comp. and in comparison the comp was much more agressive. It seems the predator makes power but not as much and does not come on as hard. I also noticed that the EGT's were getting way up there. I have ran the predator for about a year now. Just recently I added the TST PMCR and really like the settup. I have much more power and response and the egt's are about the same as before. I still have the stock clutch and turbo so I do not go over level 5-5 on the TST. I did see about a two mile/gallon increase with the predator. I have not got a good reading with the TST yet. I dont know who you are dealing with but I used City Muffler and Performance and they took care of me. The first Module I got was faualty and they replaced it with no charge for anything. Anyway, hope this helps.

Tks Cat. I am concerned with your comment on EGT's, seems one thing Predator talks up in advertising is NO raise in EGT's with the way they achieve performance. You must not be seeing damaging temps as your still stock turbo and such as am I. Have you upgraded air filter or muffler? I'm considering a Pro-Guard air filter as they show great filter capabilty and improved air flow. Tks again

I highly suggest that with any performance box, you at least put an EGT gauge in. I know Predator claims this, but I also know that Dishman Dodge in Spokane installed one following Predators claim, and Dishman had to replace the engine because it melted a piston. Put an EGT gauge on reguardless! and especially if you tow.

I also do recomend an EGT guage. The predator does make the temps go up. Its a given if you increase power. More FUEL = more POWER = more HEAT. Thats just the way it is. I am not sure how all others guages are reading, but even stock with no chip, I can put my foot in it while in high gear and the egts seem to keep climbing usually up to 1250 or so. With the chip on, the temps climb faster and I usually let out of it at about 1450. They do run warm from the factory. I have a 4 inch glass pack in place of the stock muffler and a AFE 2 filter. I also modified the down tube from the filter to the turbo. I feel sure that I am flowing enough air... . or as much as my settup is capable of. No such thing as "enough air".

I have the 120 h. p. module on my '04. It makes tons of power. I will let you know that I ran it for 6 months without any guages. Now that I have a boost and pyro I know it will raise egt's. I can hit 1400* in about 6 seconds. The Dr performance modules get a bad rap here, some of which might be well deserved... ... . i'm not sure. One thing on mine though lots of power no codes.

Also my truck is stock except for an AFE drop in filter and the module. dyno'd 383 rwhp

Gauges,,,,,,,,,yup

I plan on gauges before performance so I can get some base line established for stock boost and EGT.

I see both you guys are running aftermarket mufflers, how's the sound, I sure hear alot of trucks I would NOT want to sound like, hot or not, but I'm sure a muffler upgrade will flow more and add improvement as will an intake upgrade.

tks guys,john

I have the 51" Nelson (86131M). I want a straight thru 4" but I didn't want it to be loud. The 51" Nelson is a little louder than stock but not obnoxious. No drone, no ears ringing! :D

Good decision on the gauges. I have a 4 inch straight through muffler. Its basically a glass pack. I seems to do the job just right, with the window down you can hear it talking a bit but no drone and quiet with the window up. I had straight pipe on my 02, it was nice to listen to in town but a long road trip would drive me insane. I am pleased with the one I have now. Oh and another plus is the cost. 50$ compared to 150$
