Just came back from a "show". Vendor was Guaranteeing 15% mpg gains", 80+ RWHP for our Cummins, all with a 90 day refund if not satisified! The plug-in safely works the "Combustion Efficiency Process", rather than "over fuel and re-program" our engines. The add also states no mods to intake or exhaust are needed? Anyone using this device? It's a product of Dr. Performance. They also say the device is not detectable by vehicle ECU. Anyone using this? thanks, Doc

SSnider. . the phone # is 888 588 3437. The $$$ was around $ 500. Ther was a guy at the show with a F 600 that said the device added about 100 mi per tank of fuel and went like hell. I'm considering getting one. They had them for the 4. 5 also. Doc

Has anyone put one on a 04. 5 600 yet? Maybe DC should be putting them on at the factory so our milage would be about par with earlier year HO 5. 9. :(

Dr. Performance

Haven't people said over and over in other posts to run away from dr. performance? Just curious, maybe I'm thinking of a different Dr.

be careful of language. some mfgs use words in a different way than we're used to.

combustion efficiency my foot. I talked to Dr. Performance himself and found that it is nothing more than a pressure box that changes the shape of the power curve. Does not add any peak HP above stock peak HP (read carefully what I mean) but will add torque in the driveability and towing range without raising fuel pressure above stock 23,000 (so all the HP gains are in the low end).

sure it won't leave a footprint. but neither do any of the other pressure boxes out there. Dr. Performance fools the ECM (pressure feedback loop) just like everyone else, only not as much

I think you're thinking of the right Dr. From the Dr Performance website: "based on COMBUSTION EFFICIENCY resulting from microscopic fuel plume distribution". Not being mechanically inclined, I was just wondering: since it's a box, and IT creates the 'fuel plume', how does the 'fuel plume' fit through the injector... heh, heh! By the way, I couldn't find any information on warranty, satisfaction guarantee, or trial period. I would be very leary in buying anything from anyone that didn't provide all three. Just someting to think about... IMHO

Part# 2014 2003 - present Dodge Cummins Stage 4 w/EGT and BOOST CONTROL 130 HP @ 300 FPT

WOAH!! 130 HP from Fuel pressure?? and what is this boost control and egt control??

I have tried both the Edge ez & the Predator, I will take the Predator any day ! Dont knock them till you try them. I give a rats --- about old threads about Dr. P . They are pressure boxes & of course it raises hp past stock. These boxes do put out !

All the hype about pressure - big deal ! The timing boxes are not causing damage ? But I also would love to try the TST when the little glitches are gone. If it breaks - fix it - Ken.

I have no doubt that they work. I just can't get any meaningful information. I don't like being questioned as to why I need to see a torque curve. I don't even know about the other threads (haven't read them). What bothers me is the mis-use of terms and imprecise language. If you make more HP than stock at a certain RPM then you will have greater fuel pressure at that RPM. period end of story.

He changes the shape of the power curve but does not increase the height of the highest point.

DLeno I agree that its not being advertized honestly. There is no doubt in my mind that hp is way above stock & fuel pressure has to be also higher than stock. I am only saying that the Predator series do preform well - Please keep trying to get the proper information on the predator series. Thanks.

As my recolection serves, didn't Dr. Performance have the fastest, baddest, cummins around just a few years back. wasn't the Dr. the guru behind all the mods at Dave Smith, largest cummins dealer in the world? must be some creability?

Yea I think he knows what he's doing. He told me he doesn' sell any of his boxes to the public that go over stock max pressure. I am trying to blow through the hocus pocus and get a torque curve but so far no luck.

I have a 2013, 100 hp Dr. Perf. Use to run with 100hp or so inj. , then on the way home from a trip one of the honed nozzles cracked, just a hairlline, but enough to dump fuel into the cylinder. Sounded like a busted connecting rod, along with a ton of white smoke. Not sure if it was the hone job or higher fuel pressure that caused it. Don't think stock OEM inj. would have given me a prob. , so maybe there's the answer. That combo had good low end torque, would shudder the torque converter when ya start out. Made first gear on the 48REady4thescrappile bearable. Slipped the transmission a few times (see previous sentance). Not sure if that combo towed as well as 75hp inj. , and a 0/70/110 Bullydogbox. Do know this, back to stock inj. , TST on 7hp/4tq seems quite a bit faster and more powerful than the other 2 combos. Don't dare to dyno or 1/4 mi. 'till I upgrade the HYdidnttheyputinabiggerturboonthistobeginwith35 to a 50 or twins or something. Well I've had a few beers, and I think I'm going to go stack the Dr. Performance 100hp fuel box on top of my TST. It's just been collecting dust anyway.

Alright, just got back. Daisy chained the MAP sensor plugs. stock wire into TST, TST into Dr. P, Dr. P into MAP plug on engine. No codes, lots of power. 4/4 seemed better than just the TST alone on 7hp/4tq. No stuttering, yet, yes tommygun, mine does it too. Usually on 8/4. EGT's seemed lower. Not sure though, will be towing tomorrow, along with some empty running later. Will let u know. Glad I kept the pressure box after all. Also, been getting crappy fuel milage with the TST. Not much better than stock, if any. 14. 5-15 city, some tow. Will see if increased rail pressure changes anything.

You guys should search a little more to learn just how shady this Dr. P guy is. I wouldn't let anything he's built within 100 feet of my truck.

maybe so maybe not. I was just trying to put some fresh eyes on the subject in an attempt to make an un-biased evaluation of the box. then I talked to the man himself at DR. performance and came to the conclusion that I won't be putting this box into my fueling box summary . He questioned why I needed to look at a torque curve, agreed to send me one but didn't, and then told me he didn't really know how high his HPCR pressure goes because various pieces of test equipment disagree on the measurement.
