I was in Dixon, IL today on business and had some extra time between meetings, so I stopped by the boyhood home of President Ronald Reagan. I'm so glad I did, as I spent a very enjoyable hour visiting with the volunteer tour guides. I believe the home is closed during December and January, but is open the remaining 10 months of the year. They said that since President Reagan passed away in June, there has been a huge increase in visitors to this town of 16,000 people.
If you are ever passing through northern Illinois, I highly recommend stopping by Dixon to see this site and the wonderful memorabilia. My tour brought back some very fond memories of one of America's greatest Presidents. Thanks for letting me share.
