I got this as an e-mail. Thought some of you would find it interesting:

I picked up on something very funny this morning. CNN showed George W. leaving HM-1. The Marine at the front step saluted, GW returned it, and as he walked away, the Marine exicuted a right face to stand facing GW's back... . something that was missing in the 8 years of the Clinton presedency.

The traditional Marine Corps mark of respect was rendered to the new President. That one goes back to the days in the rigging, when the Marine orderly to the ships captain always faced him, no matter his direction of movement, to be ready to receive the next order.

Who said enlisted men cant hold back when they don't respect someone?... . and for 8 years they did!!
End of quote.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's just not true. It's an "urban legend". Got to www.snopes2.com and you can read about it and most of the other unbelievable stories circulating the web these days.

Even if the story isn't true, the sentiment is. The military is happy to have a new CINC, but it's going to take some time to undo the damage of Klinton.

I'm hopin' that with "W" in da house now, maybe the world leaders will see that there's a new sherrif in town. Hey after we deal with China howseabout we go kick OPEC in da butt?
