Ok, got the threads sealed up on the boost elbow. I very carefully counted the number of turns I loosened the allen screw, applied some loc-tite, and tightened the screw back the same number of turns. (it wouldn't tighten any more than what I loosened it, I tried) Went ahead and adjusted the valves waiting for the loc-tite to dry. Pressure tested, no leaks. Then I went for a drive. truck seems to pull more, but still have only 27 psi of boost. gauge stays at 27 as the rpm's rise and rise, you can feel the truck pulling and pulling and then the gauge "pops" up to 30 psi. It doesn't rise to 30, it "pops" up there. seems like something mechanical is sticking. I ordering a new elbow on Monday, but don't know if that's the problem.

just yank the hose from the wastegate & give it a run. that'll eliminate the wastegate signal from the equation.

I agree. The wastegate control can stick or the gate valve could leak from carbon buildup. Eliminate it's effect altogether and you'll be looking at boost only on the gauge. Ummm, is there a way that you could swap in another gauge - just in case yours has gone innaccurate?

ok, I'll remove the hose. hate to be ignorant, but do I leave the hose open ended or do I plug it? And if it is the wastegate, what do I do next?

On the turbo, @ the end of the actuator connected to the exhaust housing is a vacuum operated chingaso. Thats where the hose connects. :)

OK, removed the wastegate hose. Absoulutely no change in boost on the gauge. I'm going to order a new gauge tonight. I have no other ideas.
