I think I have to much time on my hands

Help, Hydronic Heat Pex layout for slab

I'm looking at buying one this summer, and want to hear what the good brands are? I know in the chainsaw threads we narrowed it down to Husqvarna and Stihl, let's do the same with pressure washers! I'm looking at gas powered, and at least 2500 PSI. Thanks for the help! Oo.

I bought one from Home Depot had it about 2 yrs. I think it is Excell 2400 psi has a Honda engine on it so far no problems. I have already gone thru about four electric ones they would last a year or some two.

i got a craftsman and it is the one craftsman thing i own that i am unhappy with i would suggest one of the hondas i hear they are real nice

Yep, I have one of these too. No problems for more than 2 years. It's not for commercial use, but OK for home use.

I made the mistake of purchasing a Campbell-Hausfeld electric pressure several years ago. The electric motor shorted out, caught on fire, and nearly set my wood deck on fire! C-H sent a replacement which lasted about 30 minutes. I gave up, deciding I learned a lesson, and left it for the trash man.

AR and CAT make good pumps. Honda makes good engines. IF you can find this combo you're set. I normally just go and have one made with what I want. The local store brands may claim a great motor but to keep the price down they throw on a cheap karcher pump or something like that. For most people though the home depot brnads are gonna work fine for a long time. If you ran them 6 hrs a day everyday they wouldn't hold up well, but for recreational use they're gonna work fine.

Great combo. :D Have a 13hp Honda on ours. 4gal/min @ 4000psi pump. Also have a seperate diesel fired heater.

Don't know how many hours are on it, but has had A LOT of heavy use. Anything from washing big farm machinery/trucks to the hog nursery/livestock trailers. All day operation, at times.

Do have to be careful with it, though. It can and will take paint and decals off, if you don't watch it.

I have the Generac with the horizontal shaft. I think it's rated for 2000psi.

I bought it used off the return rack at Home Depot in great shape about 7 or 8 years ago. It works well but I think if I would buy another one it would have Honda power.

That's awesome, and one big washer! I want to build a diesel fired washer here soon.

Great info guys, thanks! So I think the Honda engine is the way to go. Sounds like it all comes down to what pump is on it. What brands are OK, or more importantly, what brand of pump should be avoided? 13 horse and diesel boiler are nice - I've seen these units in action. But I think I'm more in the maket for 3000 psi and no boiler. Detergent tanks would be nice I think. I'll have to hit some local stores and see what I see. Thanks again for the help!

I found a guy on the net that builds them. They are very reasonably priced, he powder coats the frames and everything. I'll see if I can find his email, he was very helpful on identifying between the brands which was good to have and not.

check this out...

we are looking to upgrade some of our old equipment at work and I ran across this website... ...

www.spraymall.com

with free shipping and no sales tax on internet sales, you can't beat these prices.

They are in Florida, we are in CA, and looks like they can still beat any bottom line price we can find out here.

I don't work there or have any interest in this company, just thought I would pass on a good thing
