"K", my favorite parts person at Save Big @ Mopar4Less.com!! - Full Line Of Mopar Parts - says the price of the new severe service fuel filter and fuel pump system for ISB6. 7 Rams is $540. That's a pretty good discount from the retail price of $750.

I don't know how that compares to the the aftermarket systems some are using but if I was buying one I'd give consideration to the system engineered by Dodge for our application.

I do like the idea of installing A Sever Service Fuel Filter, especially after the Wygate issue, but even at $540. it's still spendy. Is there a less expensive filter that would do as good?

Look at the setup in my sig. I think I am about $200 into it.

I would like to see a breakdown on the parts. There are pieces of it I want.

Talked to brandon today at Genos and he has sent the following message regarding the Dodge severe service filter set up.

So far I am not that impressed with the kit. I am not sure Dodge is either because it has been cancelled once before and they are now releasing it again.

I believe there are better options available for almost half the price. The "Severe duty " filter uses similar filters as some of the aftermarket filter kits that are available for under $300. 00.

So at the moment I would rather see someone invest in a FASS system mainly because you get better filtration and a quality pump with a lifetime warranty for under $600. 00.

So that is my answer in a nutshell. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

There is still some question on wheather or not California's new smog testing will allow aftermarket fuel pumps with out an EO sticker... ... ... . Anybody have any current ruling info

I bet when the 6. 7 recall trial lawyers read this latest needed filter because the factory one is not adequate it will be added to the recall lawsuit!!!!!

Why do I or anybody have to buy and pay to have install an aftermarket filter kit on a new truck????? Dodge should ups us all one with a coupon for free installion anywhere prepaid!!!!

Dodge doesn't refine, distribute nor contaminate the fuel we purchase. Recently I upgraded the drop-in filter to a Baldwin 5 micron PF 7977. That's about all we can do until CARB elaborates more on aftermarket filtration.

To not put on better filtration because of CARB is ridiculous. I would put on a FASS and just tell the smog guy if asked that it's better filtration and see what happens. Or you could just swap it the stock pump at smog check time.

I installed a FASS T D07 095G yesterday, went on ok. When I dropped the tank I found that the tank has 2 breathers, one on each end, not surprising. What was a surprise, no hose or one way cap of any kind! I will be installing a line and breather cap on each next time I go near a parts store. I plan on using an axle/ t-case type breather routed up high and dry. This issue is brought up in the TSB.

I also left the stock filter in place for one more chance, Brandon at Genos thought that to be a great idea and wished he had done it with one of his trucks. If anyone else does this it is the bango fitting "looking from the back to front" highest and furthest from the block (there are 2 fittings on this side), just about center on the filter housing. Or you can just follow the "big line" up to the same.

The lift pumps? Dodge is going on 5 years with the in-tank unit, it has proven to be a very trouble free pump.
I think one of the saving fetures of this pump is the "bucket" that holds the pump. It looks like about a quart and has a small intake screen in the bottom as a pre filter for big stuff to the pump (not much smaller than window screen). I believe that if water is present and not totaly emulsified the bucket should prevent water from entering the stream for some part anyway, of course if you are driving bumpy or twisty roads that will have little positive effect.

Since you got the 95/150 I also suggest replacing the f/w sep with a BF1212 when you can. . The F/W sep on the FASS doesn't even have f/w separation specs, so who knows what it does. The BF1212 meets/exceeds the f/w sep specs for your 09.

I am only referring to the emmissions legality in Cali ;) the lift pumps are part of the emisions control (covered by emisions warranty)with out an EO sticker they may not fly

Is the FASS system loud when standing next to the idling truck?
